JUST IN: Malacañang suspends government work and classes at all levels in Metro Manila, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, Masbate, Romblon and Sorsogon on Friday (Sept. 26, 2025) due to Severe Tropical Storm .

Meanwhile, classes at all levels in Aklan, Albay, Antique, Batangas, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Capiz, Cavite, Catanduanes, Guimaras, Iloilo, Laguna, Leyte, Marinduque, Negros Occidental, Oriental Mindoro, Rizal and Quezon are also suspended to ensure public safety. | Darryl John Esguerra

Sa harap ng pananalasa ng Bagyong Opong sa Rehiyong Bicol, bukas po ang Magsaysay National High School bilang evacuation center para sa mga pamilyang nangangailangan ng ligtas na masisilungan.

Inaanyayahan po namin ang lahat ng apektadong residente na lumipat sa paaralan upang makaiwas sa panganib dulot ng malakas na ulan at hangin.

Paalala para sa kaayusan at kalinisan:

1. Panatilihin ang kalinisan sa loob ng silid-aralan. Gumamit ng basurahan at iwasan ang pagkalat ng basura.
2. Magdala ng sariling kumot, banig, at pagkain kung maaari.
3. Igalang ang espasyo ng bawat pamilya. Iwasan ang sobrang ingay at sigalot.
4. Sumunod sa mga tagubilin ng g**o, barangay volunteers, at LGU personnel.
5. Bawal ang paninigarilyo, pag-inom ng alak, at anumang uri ng gulo sa loob ng paaralan.
6. Mag-ingat sa mga gamit ng paaralan. Iwasan ang paggamit ng mga kagamitan na hindi pinahihintulutan.

Ang ating pagkakaisa at disiplina ang susi sa ligtas at maayos na pagtutulungan sa panahon ng sakuna.

JUST IN: Malacañang issues Memorandum Circular No. 101 on Wednesday (Sept. 24, 2025), suspending gov’t work and classes at all levels in Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar for Thursday (Sept. 25) due to Severe Tropical Storm Opong.

Classes at all levels in Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Samar, and Biliran are also suspended to ensure public safety.

Local chief executives are also allowed to order gov’t work and class suspensions within their localities as may be necessary. | Darryl Esguerra

Magsaysay National High School formally launched the implementation of the ARAL Program on Wednesday, September 17, with a kick-off activity led by School Head Leopoldo Bitara Jr.

The event began with a parade to showcase the unity and enthusiasm of students, faculty, and stakeholders.

During the program, Bitara addressed attendees and provided an overview of how the ARAL Program will be conducted at MNHS.

He emphasized that it aims to provide targeted academic support to selected learners.

A total of 169 students from Grade 7 to 10 were identified as beneficiaries of the program.

Their assigned ARAL tutors were formally introduced during the ceremony, which highlights the school’s commitment to guided and inclusive learning.

The kick-off was attended by parents, barangay officials, and barangay health workers, who actively participated in the program’s symbolic activities.

Attendees signed the Commitment Wall as a pledge of support to the learners’ academic journey, and joined in singing the community song, “If We Hold On Together."
