The Municipality of Canaman is a 4th class municipality within the 3rd Congressional District of the Province of Camarines Sur. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 31,583 with a growth rate of 2.64%. Canaman is situated in the Bicol River basin bounded by the Municipalities of Magarao on the north, Libmanan on the northwest, Sipocot on the west, Gainza and Camaligan on the south,

and the city of Naga on the east. It is 6 kilometers from north to south and 14 kilometers from east to west. Covered within its administrative jurisdiction and political subdivision are 24 barangays namely Baras, Del Rosario, Dinaga, Fundado, Haring, Iquin, Liñaga, Mangayawan, Palo, Pangpang, Poro, San Agustin, San Jose East, San Jose West, San Juan, San Francisco, San Nicolas, San Roque, San Vicente, Santa Cruz, Santa Teresita, Sua, Talidtid and Tibgao. Legaspi is the current chief executive of the municipality. Regulado is the presiding officer of the Sangguaning Bayan. Among its members are Hon. Alexsis Capsa, Hon. Myrna Cantillo, Hon. Ruel Espiritu, Hon. Roberto Requejo, Hon. Dionisio Corporal, Hon. Leonardo Morallos, and Hon. Sabas Chica. Its two ex-officio members include ABC President Hon. Danilo Ochoa and SK Federation President Brian San Joaquin.

BARANGAY NIGHT 2026: Honoring Service, Celebrating Excellence and Camaraderie

On August 10, 2026, the Municipality of Canaman celebrated Barangay Night as part of its 443rd Foundation Anniversary and Town Fiesta—an evening dedicated to recognizing the hard work, commitment, and exemplary performance of our barangay officials and personnel.

The awarding and recognition program was spearheaded by Municipal Administrator Neilanda Legaspi-Briones, in coordination with the Liga ng mga Barangay – Canaman Chapter, and with the support of Mayor Nelson Legaspi.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the department heads for their support, dedication, and efforts in making the different awards and recognitions possible.

More than a night of awards, the celebration also provided an opportunity to foster camaraderie, fellowship, and unity among our barangay partners. Following the formal program, the evening continued with music and dancing, giving everyone a well-deserved opportunity to relax, enjoy, and celebrate their collective achievements.

53 INDIGENT SOLO PARENTS, NAKATANGGAP NG CASH SUBSIDY

Isinagawa ng Local Government Unit of Canaman, sa pangunguna ni Mayor Nelson Legaspi, sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), ang pamamahagi ng Financial Assistance/Cash Subsidy para sa 2nd Quarter sa 53 indigent solo parents ng Canaman.

Layunin ng programang ito na makatulong sa pagtugon sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ng ating mga solo parent at kanilang mga anak, bilang bahagi ng patuloy na suporta ng Local Government Unit of Canaman sa mga pamilyang nangangailangan.

Maraming salamat sa ating mga solo parent sa inyong patuloy na pagsisikap, katatagan, at pagmamahal sa inyong mga pamilya. Patuloy po kaming magsisikap na makapaghatid ng mga programa at serbisyong makatutulong sa inyong kapakanan.

🏃‍♀️ FUN RUN & BIKE RACE 2026 🚴‍♂️

The spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie came alive during the Fun Run and Bike Race held on August 9, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 443rd Foundation Anniversary and Town Fiesta of Canaman.

The event was spearheaded by the Guardians FBI, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Canaman, bringing together runners, cyclists, and community members for a morning of fitness, fun, and fellowship.

Also present during the event was Municipal Administrator Neilanda Legaspi-Briones, representing the LGU Canaman and showing support for this meaningful celebration of health and active living.

The LGU Canaman extends its sincere appreciation to the Guardians FBI, particularly Mr. Greg Sta. Ana, Mr. Nestor Habana, and PLT Ely Langitan, for spearheading this successful event and for helping make our town fiesta celebration more vibrant and memorable.

Last August 7, we officially opened Tianggean sa Canaman through a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the start of a week-long celebration of local products, livelihood, and entrepreneurship.

As we close this year’s Tianggean sa Canaman today, we extend our sincere appreciation to Mayor Nelson M. Legaspi, Municipal Administrator Neilanda Legaspi-Briones, and Ms. Wendy Rieza for their support and efforts in making this activity possible.

Today is the last day of Tianggean sa Canaman! 🎉 Visit, shop, and support our local entrepreneurs before we close.
