The SK Federation of Camalig, Albay, officially invites all 50 Sangguniang Kabataan Barangays of Camalig, Albay to submit their entries for the SK LUMINA Awards, recognizing exemplary youth leadership, outstanding SK programs, and barangay-level innovations.

SK LUMINA honors SK officials and barangays who exemplify integrity, accountability, transparency, and meaningful youth participation, in line with the principles of RA 10742 (SK Reform Act of 2015).

𝐒𝐊 𝐖𝐄𝐁 𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄: 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐌&𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒

This concerns the compliance of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials with the creation of their respective SK Web Portal accounts and the submission of the 2024 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Reports.

Camalig has one barangay out of 50 barangays that have successfully complied and encoded their report within the given period of submission and deadline last April 15, 2025.

With this, we urge the SK Barangay to comply with this requirement of the NYC. This is to ensure that our SK leaders are accountable and responsible for their present posts as officials and representatives of youth in the local governance.

This gather all youth organizations and youth-serving organizations including school-based, faith-based/religious, federation/consortium, and community-based who are committed and dedicated to assist the planning and ex*****on of projects and programs of the Sangguniang Kabataan and of the municipality as well and to serve as the core of the advocacy on youth
participation in nation-building and youth empowerment, providing platform for ensuring a wide and multi-sectoral youth participation in local governance within the municipality.

SK Federation of Camalig Supports Agriculture Through Seed Distribution to Barangays.

In an effort to promote sustainable agriculture and empower local communities, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Camalig, Albay, has distributed seeds to the barangays of Barangay 2,3,4,5,6,7, Tinago, Gapo, Sumlang, Cabangan and Salugan This initiative is part of the federation's commitment to support Provincial Board Member Theo Gamboa's approved resolution urging all SK Federations to prioritize agricultural programs in their annual fund allocations.

The resolution, which highlights the vital role of agriculture in community development, specifically calls for the inclusion of budgetary provisions for agricultural projects before the approval of SK annual funds. Recognizing the importance of this advocacy, the SK Federation of Camalig has taken proactive steps to ensure its implementation at the grassroots level.

The seed distribution event not only aims to encourage youth involvement in agriculture but also seeks to provide barangays with resources to cultivate community gardens and small-scale farming projects. These efforts will contribute to food security, environmental sustainability, and economic growth within the municipality.

SK Federation Vice President Roger N. Gnilo Jr. expressed gratitude to Provincial Board Member Theo Gamboa for his visionary resolution and emphasized the importance of aligning youth initiatives with long-term development goals. "Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and by investing in it, we are not only supporting our farmers but also empowering the next generation to lead in sustainability and self-reliance in order to build a healthier community," the VP stated.

The federation also extended its heartfelt thanks to Municipal Councilor Ysable Dino , whose generous sponsorship of the seeds made the project possible. Her support reflects a shared commitment to uplifting local communities and ensuring the success of agriculture-based programs.

Through collaborative efforts like this, the SK Federation of Camalig hopes to inspire other youth leaders and barangays to prioritize agricultural initiatives. By planting the seeds of change today, the federation envisions a future where youth leadership drives innovation and progress in rural development.

Philippine Army, LGU-Camalig host Youth Leadership Summit 2024
The 2-day Camalig Municipal Youth Leadership Summit 2024, organized by the Alpha Company, 31st Infantry (Charge) Battalion, 9th Infantry (Spear) Division, Philippine Army, was a resounding success, bringing together 50 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairpersons and their representatives across Camalig, Albay.
Bearing the theme, “Youth of Today, Great Leaders of Tomorrow," the event featured a wide range of activities aimed at empowering young leaders, including discussions and workshops focused on mental health awareness, teenage pregnancy, disaster management, environmental protection, information campaign, criminality, drug addiction and prevention, fire prevention and more.
Held at the Albay Provincial Agriculture Office (APAO) Negosyo Auditorium in Brgy. Cabangan, the summit provided a platform for young leaders to learn, grow, and network with their peers, demonstrating the government’s whole-of-government and whole-of-society commitment to investing in the future of the youth.
