OUTREACH PROGRAM: SHARE THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS โœจ๐ŸŽ„

This Christmas season, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Cristina reaches out with open hearts to support our Out-of-School Youth (OSY) and senior citizens who have little to nothing.

Through this outreach program, we aim to share not just goods, but hope, care, and the true spirit of Christmasโ€”a reminder that no one is forgotten and that our community stands together in love and compassion.

IN PHOTOS | In line with the mission of the SK Councils to educate the youth on pressing issues and topics concerning their development and well-being, guest speakers graced our Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) 2025 celebration and delivered meaningful talks on Sunday, August 24, at the Calubian Sports Complex.

Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) Jonathan Obana from PNP Calubian led the discussion on Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo (KK2DAT), highlighting the importance of youth awareness on the harmful effects of illegal drugs and the necessary actions to avoid or report drug-related activities to the authorities.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rex Pepe Arevalo, a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Biliran Provincial Hospital, discussed Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), underscoring the urgency of educating young people on these topics given the rising cases of HIV and AIDS among the youth.

Moreover, Dr. Cyril Ian Alombro, Municipal Health Officer of Calubian, Leyte, led an insightful discussion on Mental Health Awareness, emphasizing the importance of caring for oneโ€™s mental well-being and seeking proper help when facing mental health challenges.

As part of the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025, the Runway Model Challenge will be held on August 24, Sunday, at the Calubian Sports Complex. This event is open to all participants of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 and aims to provide the youth with an avenue to express creativity, confidence, and individuality.

There is no specific theme for the outfits, allowing participants the freedom to showcase their personal style. However, it is important to note that revealing outfits are strictly prohibited to maintain the dignity and decorum of the activity.

The winners of the challenge will be recognized with the following prizes:

As part of its commitment to youth development and educational support, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) provides a small amount of cash assistance to all first-year and fourth-year college students within the community. This initiative is meant to help address the practical and immediate needs of students during the beginning and final phase of their college education.

Starting college can be both exciting and challenging. Many students need to prepare financially for their new environment and academic requirements.

Fourth-year students are often required to undergo On-the-Job Training (OJT), which comes with additional daily expenses.

This initiative reflects the SK's dedication to supporting youth not just through programs and events, but also in practical, educational needs.

Ang tumong sa SK mao ang pagtabang sa kabatan-onan nga makapadayon sa ilang edukasyon bisan pa sa kalisod. Pinaagi sa ginagmay nga pinansyal nga suporta, gusto sa SK nga ipaabot nga dili kamo nag-inusara sa inyong paningkamot.
