The PNP Women and Children Protection Center proudly supports the launch of Huwag Magsikreto, a childrenโ€™s book developed by My Children House of Hope to help children understand personal safety, recognize inappropriate behaviors, and encourage them to speak to trusted adults when something is wrong.

More than just a storybook, Huwag Magsikreto is a valuable child protection tool that empowers children, equips parents and caregivers, and strengthens our collective effort to prevent child abuse.

Barangay Visitation and Dialogue

On August 5, 2026, at about 1:30 PM, PCPT JOVELYN M IBARRA, OIC, DWCPD, PMSg Kaye Raquel S Compuesto, Supervisor, and other DWCPD personnel conducted Barangay Visitation and Ugnayan at Barangay 14, Zone 2, District II, Caloocan City. During the visitation, Hon. Efren B. Dela Cruz, Punong Barangay, together with the other barangay officials and the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Desk Officer discussed the current peace and order concerns, particularly cases involving VAWC, child abuse, juvenile-related incidents, and other community issues.

It aimed to strengthen coordination and partnership, discuss issues and concerns involving women and children, enhance the implementation of community-based programs and initiatives, and identify future collaborative activities to further improve the delivery of protective services and interventions at the barangay level.

During the dialogue, discussions focused on the prevailing concerns with the barangay, particularly those affecting women, children, and vulnerable sectors. They exchanged information regarding reported incidents, existing intervention programs, and challenge encountered in handling community concerns.

This activity demonstrated the importance of continuous coordination, information sharing, and proactive interventions to prevent incidents affecting women and children.

School Visitation and Coordination

On August 5, 2026, at about 3:00 PM, personnel of the DWCPD, DIDMD, NPD, under the supervision of PCOL ANGELITO V DE JUAN, and PCPT JOVELYN M IBARRA, OIC, DWCPD conducted a school visitation at Macario B. Asistio, Sr. High School, Caloocan City, and coordinated with Ms. Liza S. Aizon, Head Teacher VI, regarding the conduct of the Anti-Bullying Awareness Lecture.

The activity aimed to strengthen the partnership between the NPD and the school, discuss the schedule and implementation of the lecture, and ensure the successful conduct of the activity to promote a safe, secure, and bully-free learning environment among students.

๐Ÿงธ Protecting Children Begins With Paying Attention

Children should never have to question their safety. Yet exploitation often starts long before anyone notices. Traffickers look for vulnerability, isolation, and moments when a child feels unseen. Awareness is the first line of defense, but awareness must be active.

Child exploitation is not a distant problem. It happens in neighborhoods, schools, churches, online spaces, and communities of every size. Silence gives traffickers room to operate. Believing โ€œit could never happen hereโ€ is how danger goes unnoticed.

Every adult plays a role in protecting children. When something feels off, it is worth paying attention. Asking questions, staying engaged, and recognizing subtle changes in a childโ€™s behavior can interrupt a traffickerโ€™s access before harm occurs.

ATB remains committed to equipping families, communities, and leaders with the tools needed to identify danger early and safeguard the children entrusted to them.
