To create a safer, more accountable, and more trusted digital environment for Filipinos, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, met with Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda to explore the use of the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) in age and identity checks for users of Roblox and Meta.

With over 96 million Filipinos registered, the National ID System will serve as the backbone of the country's digital identity ecosystem. The PSA assured that registered individuals can be verified through the National ID Registryโ€”no physical or digital card required. The pilot rollout is set to begin soon.

Key officials, including Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) Undersecretary Renato โ€˜Aboyโ€™ A. Paraiso; PSA Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office; PSA Assistant National Statistician (ANS) Vazir Joshua Querol; and OIC-ANS Atty. Henedine P. Palabras were also present at the meeting.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in partnership with the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Business Insights Laboratory for Development (BUILD) and its Technical Resource Lab (TRL), successfully conducted the National ID Forum: Utilizing the National ID for Financial Services on 07 August 2026.

The day-long forum convened 45 representatives from banks and other financial institutions to streamline the adoption of the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) across the banking sector.

The PSA continues to work closely with various government agencies, financial institutions, and development partners to expand the use of the National ID.

Snapping a selfie is now all it takes for Filipinos to verify their identity and open a bank account, as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) inked the subscription contract for the adoption of the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) to eliminate paper barriers and usher in a faster, safer, and fully inclusive digital banking.

Under this partnership, eligible National ID holders can now seamlessly open a bank account through the BPI app using a live selfie matched directly against their record in the National ID registry. The real-time biometric verification eliminates the need for physical ID card uploads or additional secondary documentation, delivering a faster, simpler, and more secure onboarding experience.

As more institutions adopt NIDAS, the PSA continues to expand the ways Filipinos can use their National IDs in everyday transactions. ๐Ÿชช๐Ÿ“ฑ

The National ID is now integrated with the Unisys Corporation-managed PSA Serbilis System.

Formalized during a ceremonial signing on 25 August 2026, the integration enables more seamless, secure, and efficient online request and issuance of civil registry documents.

Leading the ceremony were PSA Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office; PSA Assistant Secretary Minerva Eloisa P. Esquivias, Deputy National Statistician of the Civil Registration and Central Support Office; Engr. Marizza B. Grande, Assistant National Statistician of the Civil Registration Service; Atty. Henedine P. Palabras, Officer-in-Charge, Assistant National Statistician of the Use Case Development and Management Service; along with other key PSA officials.

Representatives from Unisys Managed Services Corporation included Delivery Director and Head of Operations Maria Victoria G. Villena and Service Delivery Manager Jocelyn L. Llanto.

Para kay Kuya Eldie, naging daan ang National ID para mas madali siyang makapagbukas ng GCash account at ma-access ang digital financial services na makatutulong sa kanyang pamilya.

Sa pamamagitan ng partnership ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at GCash, nakapagbukas siya ng account gamit ang kanyang National ID, na nagpadali sa pagtanggap ng perang nakalaan para sa kanyang pamilya.

Sa tulong ng National ID, mas maraming Pilipino ang maaaring magkaroon ng MADALI, SECURE, at INCLUSIVE na access sa financial services.
