The Municipality of Sta. Rita achieved a significant milestone following its official declaration under the Stable Internal Peace and Security Condition (SIPSC), marking a major step toward sustaining peace, security, and development in the municipality.

The declaration signifies the substantial decline, if not the complete eradication, of insurgency-related activities in the area through the unified efforts of the Local Government Unit (LGU), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and partner stakeholders through the Whole-of-Nation Approach.
A highlight of the activity was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Pledge of Commitment and Support, reaffirming the collective dedication of all stakeholders to preserve peace gains and strengthen community resilience in Sta. Rita.

In her message, Municipal Mayor Hon. Jascha Mae R. Tiu expressed her gratitude to all agencies and stakeholders for their unwavering support and cooperation in achieving the SIPSC declaration. She emphasized that the achievement reflects the unity, commitment, and shared aspirations of the people of Sta. Rita for a peaceful and progressive community.
Meanwhile, key officials from the DILG, AFP, PNP, Provincial Government of Samar, and partner agencies conveyed their continued commitment to sustaining peace and advancing development initiatives in the municipality.

The activity concluded with a symbolic Dove-Letting Ceremony, representing peace, unity, hope, and new beginnings for the people of Sta. Rita, Samar.

The successful SIPSC declaration stands as a testament to the power of unity, collaboration, and whole-of-nation efforts in achieving genuine and lasting peace, paving the way for greater progress and stability in the municipality.

The Joint Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) of the Municipalities of Pinabacdao and Calbiga, through the invaluable support of the Province of Samar and facilitated by the 63rd Infantry Battalion in partnership with other national-line agencies and partner stakeholders, served as a meaningful platform in empowering the youth to become active partners in peacebuilding, environmental stewardship, and community development.

Held on May 18-20, the summit gathered young leaders from various sectors to strengthen camaraderie, leadership, and social responsibility through interactive discussions, team-building activities, and cultural immersion.

One of the highlights of the activity was the educational and tourism visit to the Mangrove Safari of Pinabacdao, where participants witnessed the importance of mangrove ecosystems in protecting coastal communities and preserving biodiversity. The experience instilled environmental awareness and appreciation for the municipalityโ€™s growing eco-tourism initiatives.

Equally significant was the โ€œTrek for Peaceโ€ at the Langun-Gobingob Cave in Calbiga, which was joined by Hon. Viannery Dy-Mabag, Municipal Mayor of Pinabacdao, and Brigadier General Arlino L. Sendaydiego, Commander, 801st Infantry (Bantay at Gabay) Brigade. Tha Langun-Gobingob Cave is recognized as the largest cave systems in the country. The challenging trek symbolized the journey of the youth toward resilience and peace. As participants navigated the natural wonders of the cave, they also reflected on the importance of solidarity and cooperation in overcoming societal challenges.

Hon. Mabag, Municipal Mayor of Pinabacdaoโ€”the Summitโ€™s host municipality, extended her appreciation for the conduct of the Joint Youth Leadership Summit 2026.

โ€œThe summit serves as a valuable opportunity for the younger generation to learn the importance of responsible leadership and active involvement in community affairs,โ€ said Hon. Mabag.

She further added that the activity encourages the youth to develop stronger relationships with fellow young leaders while deepening their understanding of their duties and responsibilities as future leaders of society.

The 3-day Joint YLS is the collective efforts of local government units of Pinabacdao and Calbiga, partner agencies such as the 802nd Maneuver Company, Special Action Force, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire and Protection, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of Calbiga and Pinabacdao, Local Tourism Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the 8th CMO Battalion, the summit successfully demonstrated that empowering the youth through meaningful engagement and exposure to the rich natural heritage of Samar can inspire a stronger sense of patriotism and commitment to lasting peace and development.

The Local Government of Basey, Samar together with other well-meaning organizations have successfully conducted the Bayanihan Challenge 2026: โ€œDiwa ng Bayanihanโ€ from 11 to 15 May 2026, highlighting the Filipino spirit of unity, volunteerism, and collective action through meaningful community activities.

The initiative has brought together participating agencies including the 63rd Infantry Battalion, 502nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 546 Engineer Construction Battalion, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in support of environmental protection and community welfare, exemplifying the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan.

The 5-day series of activities strengthened cooperation among government agencies and the community and highlighted the essence of unity and cooperation in promoting sustainable development and lasting peace.

The celebration gathered military personnel, adjacent unit commanders, stakeholders, and distinguished guests in recognition of the battalionโ€™s enduring legacy and accomplishments.

Its theme, โ€œ39 Years of Innovative Service: Resilient Through Time, United in Mission Across the Land,โ€ highlighted the battalionโ€™s journey as it moves forward. Resolute in mission, united in purpose, and committed to protect the gains of peace.

๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ || In line with the celebration of its 39th Founding Anniversary, the 63rd Infantry (Innovator) Battalion, Philippine Army held an Anniversary Holy Mass at the Main Command Post in Barangay Literon, Calbiga, Samar on May 14, 2026.

For 39 years, the battalion has remained steadfast in its mission of serving the people, securing communities, and upholding peace and development in its area of responsibility.
