Virtual In-Service Training
Day 2

The second day of the Virtual In-Service Training at Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School was once again a meaningful day of learning, sharing, and professional enrichment. The teachers actively participated in discussions of various topics, sharing valuable insights, experiences, and skills that can further enhance their teaching practices and increase their potential as effective educators.

The session also provided an opportunity for the teachers to reflect on different teaching strategies and approaches that can be applied to address the diverse needs of learners. Ma’am Imelda Florparayno, the School Principal, also shared technical insights and guidance on effective teaching strategies, as well as updates concerning the current status and needs of the school.

After the discussions, a virtual awarding of certificates was conducted to recognize the teachers’ participation and completion of the training. The required outputs and activities were also submitted through the Teachers’ Group Chat.

Indeed, the second day was another full day of learning, sharing, and professional growth, further strengthening the commitment of the BCLES teaching force to continuously improve their skills and provide quality education to their learners. The success of the two-day Virtual In-Service Training was made possible through the efforts and initiative of the Overall Chairman, Ma’am Cham Centeno, with the cooperation and active participation of the BCLES teachers, and through the guidance and leadership of Ma’am Imelda F. Parayno, School Principal I. Their collective effort and commitment contributed greatly to the successful and meaningful conduct of the training.

BCLES Conducts 2026 Virtual In-Service Training Amidst Flooding

DAY 1

Despite the community flooding, the Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School (BCLES) successfully conducted the 2026 Virtual In-Service Training (INSET), demonstrating the commitment of the school personnel to continuous professional development and learning.

The activity was spearheaded by the INSET Chairman, Ma’am Cham Centeno , through the guidance and support of the School Principal, Ma’am Imelda Florparayno. BCLES teachers actively participated in the virtual training, where essential and relevant topics were discussed to strengthen their knowledge and professional competencies.

The training provided teachers with opportunities to refresh, enhance, and strengthen their teaching strategies and skills, which they can apply in addressing the diverse learning needs of their learners.

Conducting the training virtually was a practical response to the prevailing community flooding. Despite the challenging circumstances, the BCLES Teaching Force remained committed to learning and professional growth. The flood may have disrupted normal routines, but it never became a hindrance to continuous learning and professional development.

BCLES Joins the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2026

The Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School (BCLES) actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026 conducted on September 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

In support of the nationwide earthquake preparedness campaign, the school personnel and learners participated in the drill from their respective homes. They practiced the essential “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and followed appropriate safety measures to strengthen their awareness and readiness during an earthquake.

Through this activity, BCLES continues to promote a culture of preparedness, safety, and disaster resilience among learners, parents, and school personnel, emphasizing that preparedness begins not only in school but also in every home and community.

Pangatlong Baha, Pangatlong Paglubog, Pangatlong Dilubyo sa Buwan ng Agosto

Muling nilubog ng baha ang Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School, sa pangatlong pagkakataon ngayong buwan ng Agosto. Sa pagkakataong ito, mas malalim na naman ang tubig. Halos kalahati ng mga gusali ng paaralan ay nalubog na, at lampas-tao na ang lebel ng tubig sa loob ng paaralan.

Sa bawat pagtaas ng tubig, walang ibang magawa ang mga g**o kundi paulit-ulit na iangat ang mga kagamitan sa pinakamataas na lugar na maaari nilang abutin. Ngunit sa pagkakataong ito, halos wala na ring mapagtaasan. Ang mga gamit na naisalba at naitaas noon ay maaari na namang maitaob dahil sa lakas at pressure ng tubig-baha.

Sa bawat paglubog, may mga bagay na muling nasisira, mga bagong pisara na punaglaanan ng pondo ng paaralan, instructional materials na pinaghirapang ihanda ng mga g**o, kagamitan sa pagtuturo at iba pang gamit ng paaralan na pilit na isinalba pero itinaob ng malalim na baha. Sa tuwing humuhupa ang baha, ibinababa ang mga ito, nililinis at inaayos. Ngunit kapag muling tumaas ang tubig, muli na naman silang itinataas. Paulit-ulit. Nakakapagod. Nakakalungkot.

Halos buong-pusong sariling pagsisikap ng mga g**o ang ginugugol upang mapangalagaan ang mga kagamitan at muling maibangon ang paaralan. Mas mahirap ang sitwasyon dahil ang buong komunidad ay apektado rin ng baha, at maging ang mga kabahayan ng ating mga mag-aaral ay nalulubog. Kaya sa oras ng paglilinis at pagbangon, mas matindi rin ang kanilang sariling pinagdaraanan.

Sa kabila nito, taos-puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa mga ilang magulang na patuloy na tumutulong sa bawat pagbangon, gayundin sa mga opisyal ng barangay at LGU na patuloy na umaalalay sa abot ng kanilang makakaya.

Ngunit sa bawat pag-ulit ng ganitong sitwasyon, lalong nagiging malinaw na kailangan namin ng mas pangmatagalang solusyon. Hindi lamang ito tungkol sa muling paglilinis at pagsasaayos. Hindi lamang ito tungkol sa muling pagtataas at pagbaba ng mga kagamitan.

Kaya naman, muli naming ipinapahayag ang aming pag-asa na matuloy at maitayo na sana ang high-rise school building na matagal na naming hinihintay, isang gusaling makapagbibigay ng mas ligtas na lugar para sa ating mga mag-aaral, g**o, at mga kagamitan, lalo na sa panahon ng paulit-ulit na pagbaha.

Bawat baha ay may naiiwang pinsala. Bawat pagbangon ay may katumbas na pagod.

Ngunit hindi nawawala ang aming pag-asa na darating ang araw na hindi na kailangang lumubog ang aming paaralan upang muli itong bumangon.

Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School, patuloy na bumabangon, ngunit umaasang darating na ang panahon para sa isang mas ligtas at matatag na paaralan. 🙏

On August 28, 2026, the Term 1 Examination was successfully conducted at Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School. The examination was closely monitored by the School Principal, Ma’am Imelda Florparayno, to ensure the orderly and smooth administration of the test. Learners took the examination with focus and cooperation, following the prescribed testing guidelines.

Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping

On July 30, 2026, the Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School conducted a Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity aimed at promoting safety awareness and disaster preparedness among learners. The activity was led by the School Project Development Officer, Ma’am Jennifer Parayno Gabica-Dioquino, in coordination with the SELG officers and their adviser, Ma’am Analyn Mendoza .

The SELG officers actively participated in the school-wide inspection by going around the school premises and carefully observing areas that may pose potential risks or hazards to learners, teachers, and other school personnel. Through their observations, they were able to identify and locate various hazard-prone areas or spots within the school, which were documented and considered in the preparation of appropriate safety measures.

The activity also encouraged the learners to become more responsible and proactive in maintaining a safe school environment. Together with their adviser and school personnel, the SELG officers discussed possible contingency plans, preventive measures, and safety precautions that could be implemented to minimize risks and prevent accidents. They were reminded to remain vigilant, immediately report unsafe conditions, and practice safety protocols at all times.

The conduct of the Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping activity strengthened the learners’ awareness of their role in creating a safe and disaster-resilient school community. It also provided an opportunity for the SELG officers to demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and active participation in school safety initiatives.

Through the guidance of Ma’am Jennifer Gabica and Ma’am Analyna Mendoza, the activity successfully empowered the learners to take part in identifying hazards and developing practical measures to help ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in the school community.

Strengthening School Safety Through Mosquito Larval Control

On this day, through the initiative of Kagawad Mercy Ferrer and PTA President Marita Lambino with the support of Barangay Captain Dante B. Fernandez, the Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School conducted a mosquito larval control activity within the school premises to eliminate mosquito larvae and potential breeding sites.

Kagawad Mercy Ferrer immediately coordinated with Sir Paolo Tamayo, Rural Sanitary Inspector, who responded to the concern. Barangay Captain Dante B. Fernandez also sent the Lasip CVOs to assist, with other barangay officials present during the activity.

Sir Tamayo explained that fogging was not advisable at this time since the school had already undergone two consecutive fogging activities by the RHU and misting by Kambal Pest Control. Thus, larviciding and source reduction were identified as appropriate measures to address mosquito breeding areas.

Teachers also sprayed mosquito repellents in the classrooms as an added precaution. The school sincerely thanks Hon. Mayor Patrick A. Caramat, RHU Calasiao, Barangay Captain Dante B. Fernandez and the Lasip Barangay Officials, Kagawad Mercy Ferrer, PTA President Marita Lambino, Sir Paolo Tamayo, and the Lasip CVOs for their immediate support and action.

Under the leadership of Ma’am Imelda Florparayno, the Balingit-Constantino Lasip Teaching Force continues to work together to address learners’ academic needs while prioritizing their safety, health, and well-being.

Resuming Classes with Care, Safety and Understanding

Face-to-face classes at Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School will resume tomorrow, August 25, 2026. Although the school is within walking distance for many of our learners, the recent flooding has affected the entire school community, with some areas still experiencing floodwaters at this time.

In view of this situation, the school continues to give consideration to learners whose homes or immediate surroundings remain flooded and unsafe. We fully understand and respect the decision of parents who may choose to keep their children at home while conditions remain unsafe. The safety and well-being of our learners remain our priority.

Learners who are unable to attend classes due to the continuing effects of flooding will be given appropriate interventions and learning support once they are able to return to school. Teachers will provide assistance to help them cope with missed lessons and continue their learning.

Parents and learners who are able to attend are also encouraged to take necessary precautions. They are advised to wear clothing that can provide protection from mosquito bites. Bringing umbrellas, raincoats, and boots is also encouraged, especially with the possibility of continued rain and wet conditions.

The school remains committed to ensuring learning continuity while giving utmost consideration to the safety and circumstances of every learner and family. Through the cooperation and understanding of parents, teachers, and the community, we hope to safely resume face-to-face learning while continuing to support those who are still affected by the flooding.

Continuing Learning Through Modular Distance Learning

This Monday, August 24, 2026, Balingit-Constantino Lasip Elementary School continued the implementation of Modular Distance Learning (MDL) to ensure the continuity of learning despite the challenges brought by the recent flooding. Following the school’s twice submergence in floodwater, teachers also worked together in preparing the school environment to make it safer, cleaner, and more conducive to learning once face-to-face classes resume.

Through their respective Grade Group Chats, teachers provided learning activities and guidance to learners, while pupils actively participated and accomplished their assigned tasks from home. Ma’am Imelda Florparayno, the School Principal, closely monitored the implementation of MDL through the Grade GCs, ensuring that teachers remained connected with their learners and that learning continued despite the circumstances.

Even after the flood, the BCLES community remains committed to keeping education moving forward-one lesson, one learner, and one day at a time.
