Ipinababatid ng BFAR MIMAROPA sa publiko na batay sa pinakahuling Shellfish Bulletin No. 19, Series of 2026 na inilabas ngayong 5 Agosto 2026, ang shellfish na nakolekta mula sa Honda Bay at Puerto Princesa Bay sa Puerto Princesa City, Palawan ay positibo sa Paralytic Shellfish Poison (PSP) o red tide toxin na lumalagpas sa itinakdang regulatory limit.

Dahil dito, mahigpit na ipinapayo na HUWAG kainin, ibenta, o anihin ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at alamang (Acetes sp.) mula sa mga nabanggit na lugar sapagkat hindi ito ligtas para sa pagkain ng tao.

Samantala, ang isda, pusit, hipon, at alimango mula sa mga apektadong lugar ay maaari pa ring kainin kung sariwa, hinugasang mabuti, at tinanggal ang hasang at lamang-loob bago lutuin.

Patuloy na mino-monitor ng BFAR MIMAROPA ang sitwasyon at hinihikayat ang publiko na manatiling mapagmatyag at sumunod sa mga opisyal na abiso upang mapangalagaan ang kalusugan ng bawat isa.

𝐁𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐌𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐀 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐄-𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐏 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) MIMAROPA joined more than 100 representatives from national government agencies, local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and other public institutions during the RA 12254: E-Governance Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) Caravan held on August 4–5, 2026, at the Filipiniana Hotel in Calapan City.

Organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) MIMAROPA, in partnership with the Government Digital Transformation Bureau (GDTB), the two-day orientation and workshop aimed to familiarize participating agencies with the provisions of Republic Act No. 12254, also known as the E-Governance Act, and the updated Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) template.

The activity featured discussions on the law's Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), digital governance frameworks, and the preparation of agency ISSPs aligned with national digital transformation priorities, government planning processes, and budgeting requirements. Participants also took part in workshops designed to strengthen their capacity in developing strategic and sustainable digital initiatives within their respective organizations.

DICT MIMAROPA Regional Director Emmy Lou V. Delfin emphasized that the caravan is part of the agency's continuing efforts to accelerate digital transformation across the public sector. She underscored the importance of enhancing the digital capabilities of government institutions to deliver secure, interoperable, efficient, and citizen-centered public services, enabling faster and more responsive government transactions.

In a virtual message, Assistant Secretary for E-Government Maria Victoria C. Castro highlighted the significance of the E-Governance Act in building a more connected and digitally empowered government. She encouraged government agencies to actively adopt digital solutions that enhance public service delivery while promoting stronger collaboration and interoperability among institutions.

BFAR MIMAROPA's participation in the caravan reinforces the bureau's commitment to digital innovation and good governance. By aligning its information systems and digital initiatives with the national e-governance agenda, the bureau continues to strengthen its capacity to deliver more efficient, transparent, and accessible services to the fisheries and aquatic resources sector in support of the Bagong Pilipinas vision.

The consultation will be held on August 5–6, 2026, in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, and aims to present the proposed guidelines while gathering comments, recommendations, and inputs from stakeholders to further enhance its provisions prior to the issuance of the final Joint Memorandum Circular.
