Noong Setyembre 4, 2026, matagumpay na nagsagawa ng seaborne patrol operation ang mga tauhan ng Oriental Mindoro Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA), sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PLTCOL BENJAMIN H USMAN, OIC, RMU 4B, katuwang ang Pinamalayan MPS at Bantay Dagat Pinamalayan, sa karagatang sakop ng Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. Ang operasyon ay nagresulta sa pagkaka-intercept sa isang motorized fishing banca na may markang “J-M” at pagkakahuli sa mga mangingisdang aktwal na nangingisda gamit ang fine mesh net, humigit-kumulang 700 metro mula sa dalampasigan ng Brgy. Lumangbayan, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, na malinaw na paglabag sa Section 93 (Use of Fine Mesh Net) ng Republic Act No. 10654.

Maliban sa motorized fishing banca na may markang “J-M,” nakumpiska rin ang isang Greenfield 20HP engine, isang set ng fishing net o fine mesh net, at humigit-kumulang tatlong (3) kilo ng mga nahuling isda, na may tinatayang kabuuang halaga na PhP131,300.00.

Ang mga nahuling mangingisda, kasama ang mga nakumpiskang ebidensya, ay pansamantalang dinala sa Oriental Mindoro MARPSTA, Sitio Dalapian, Brgy. Labasan, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, para sa kaukulang dokumentasyon at wastong disposisyon, gayundin sa paghahanda ng kaukulang administrative complaint na ihahain sa BFAR Regional Office MIMAROPA.

Patuloy na isinusulong ng RMU 4B, katuwang ang mga law enforcement agencies at maritime stakeholders, ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng mga batas pangisdaan upang mapangalagaan ang yamang-dagat at maihatid ang tapat, mabilis, at nararamdamang serbisyo sa mamamayan.

LUCENA CITY, QUEZON – Dalawang indibidwal ang naaresto ng mga tauhan ng Quezon Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA) noong Setyembre 3, 2026, dakong 6:00 ng gabi, kaugnay ng umano’y pagdadala ng ilang kahon na pinaghihinalaang naglalaman ng mga iligal at hindi nabayarang buwis na produktong sigarilyo.

Nakumpiska sa operasyon ang tatlong kahon ng Bosqu Ci******es na naglalaman ng 150 reams na nagkakahalaga ng PhP172,200.00, at limang kahon ng Marko Menthol Ci******es na naglalaman ng 250 reams na nagkakahalaga ng PhP287,000.00, na may tinatayang humigit-kumulang halaga na PhP459,200.00.

Ang mga naaresto at nakumpiskang sigarilyo ay dinala sa Quezon MARPSTA para sa kaukulang dokumentasyon at wastong disposisyon, alinsunod sa Section 263 ng RA 8424 o Tax Reform Act of 1997.

Isinagawa ang operasyon kaugnay ng paglabag sa Section 10 ng Republic Act No. 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings) at Section 263, in relation to Section 8(A), ng Republic Act No. 8424 (Tax Reform Act), as amended na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa isang suspek. Nakumpiska ang iba’t ibang uri ng sigarilyo na walang Graphic Health Warnings at BIR excise tax stamps, kabilang ang Farstar, D&J, Mighty Green, RGD Red, Modern Red, at Bosque Ci******es, na may tinatayang humigit-kumulang halagang PhP167,551.00.

Ang suspek ay dinala sa Capiz MARPSTA kasama ang mga nakumpiskang ebidensya para sa kaukulang dokumentasyon at wastong disposisyon.

Ang matagumpay na operasyong ito ay nagpapakita sa patuloy na koordinasyon ng PNP Maritime Group at mga katuwang na law enforcement agencies sa pagpapatupad ng mga batas at pagpigil sa iligal na kalakalan ng mga produktong tabako.

OZAMIZ ROBBERY CRACKED IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS; SUSPECTS TIED TO OTHER ROBBERY CASES

Police in Northern Mindanao swiftly moved to identify and locate two suspects allegedly behind a robbery in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, resulting in the arrest of one suspect within 24 hours and establishing the pair’s possible links to other robbery incidents in the region.

The robbery occurred at around 11:15 p.m. on September 1, 2026, when two suspects allegedly entered a commercial establishment through an opening at the rear portion of the building and forcibly opened a vault containing approximately ₱60,000.00 in cash.

Through crime scene processing and examination of available CCTV footage, investigators identified the suspects as alias “Joe” and alias “Boy,” both residents of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur. “Joe” was also found to have an existing warrant of arrest for Robbery in Zamboanga del Sur.

Further investigation established that the two are being linked to other robbery incidents under investigation, including the robbery of a similar commercial establishment in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, in February 2026, and another incident in Tudela, Misamis Occidental, in April 2026. Authorities are continuing to validate the information and gather evidence for the appropriate cases.

Police subsequently located “Joe” at his residence and arrested him. During the follow-up operation in the area where “Boy” was reportedly staying, the suspect allegedly fired at police officers, prompting them to respond. He sustained gunshot wounds and was declared dead.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the development shows the value of combining immediate police response with careful investigative work in pursuing cases.

“Kapag may nangyaring krimen, hindi puwedeng hanggang report lang. We move quickly, but we also take the time to establish the facts and connect the pieces. Kung may iba pang kaso na may kaugnayan, dapat makita rin natin iyon at maipursige sa tamang proseso,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operation reflects the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through responsive policing supported by investigation, evidence gathering, and coordination among units. It likewise supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to maintaining safe and orderly communities.

The arrested suspect is set to face appropriate charges for Robbery in connection with the Ozamiz City incident and for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

₱3.2M WORTH OF SUSPECTED SMUGGLED GOODS SEIZED IN SOUTHERN LEYTE, SULU

The Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than ₱3.2 million worth of suspected smuggled petroleum products and ci******es in separate anti-smuggling operations in Southern Leyte and Sulu on September 3, 2026, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of 21 master cases of suspected smuggled ci******es.

In Sogod, Southern Leyte, personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Southern Leyte Provincial Field Unit and Sogod Municipal Police Station arrested two individuals, both of legal age and Filipino nationals, during an operation at around 5:30 p.m. The operation resulted in the seizure of 10,000 liters of diesel, 5,000 liters of premium gasoline, and 14,000 liters of unleaded gasoline, with a combined estimated market value of ₱2.18 million.

Meanwhile, in Pangutaran, Sulu, police personnel recovered 21 master cases of suspected smuggled ci******es valued at approximately ₱1.029 million during an anti-smuggling operation. The items were found abandoned and were brought to the police station for proper disposition and subsequent turnover to the Bureau of Customs.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operations demonstrate the importance of sustained police presence and coordination in protecting communities and legitimate businesses from the effects of illegal trade.

“Every successful operation sends a clear message that illegal trade will not be allowed to undermine legitimate commerce. We act on information, we coordinate with the proper agencies, and we make sure the evidence is properly handled. Trabaho natin ito, at gagawin natin nang maayos,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations form part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), strengthening police efforts to address activities that affect public order, lawful commerce, and community welfare. BUKIDNON SEES ANOTHER STEP TOWARD PEACE AS INSURGENT SURRENDERS

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., recorded another voluntary surrender in Bukidnon on September 3, 2026, as an insurgent chose to abandon the armed struggle and return to the folds of the law.

The latest development comes just days after the PNP featured the August 26, 2026 surrender of another insurgent in San Fernando, Bukidnon. In that earlier case, alias “Math/Saudi,” a Periodic Status Report-listed member of the dismantled Guerrilla Front 89, surrendered and turned over an improvised 5.56mm revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition.

In the latest surrender, alias “Tonton,” a 38-year-old married male and member of the Milisyang Bayan of Guerrilla Front 68, Sub-Regional Committee 4, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee, voluntarily yielded to government authorities at the 1004th Maneuver Company (MC), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB 10) Headquarters in Barangay Tagbak, Talakag, Bukidnon.

He surrendered one improvised shotgun and two rounds of 12-gauge ammunition. The surrender was facilitated by personnel of the 1004th MC, RMFB 10, together with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit and Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Team.

Alias “Tonton” is now under the custody of the 1004th MC for custodial debriefing and individual profiling, while the surrendered firearm and ammunition remain secured by the same unit for proper documentation and disposition.

The latest surrender underscores the sustained efforts of government authorities in Bukidnon to encourage members of armed groups to abandon violence and embrace a peaceful and lawful life. It also reflects the government’s continuing efforts to reduce armed-group influence and strengthen peace and security in communities.

The surrender is aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens the PNP’s efforts to address internal security threats, facilitate the peaceful surrender of armed-group members, and help maintain peace and order in affected communities.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that every voluntary surrender helps reduce the potential for violence while opening a path toward peace.

“Every surrender is an opportunity to prevent violence and help build safer communities. We will remain firm in protecting the public while supporting those who choose to leave the armed struggle,” PGEN Nartatez said.

He also encouraged other armed-group members to make the same decision.

“Piliin ang kapayapaan kaysa karahasan. Ibaba ang armas at samantalahin ang pagkakataong makabalik sa pamilya at mamuhay nang maayos,” he added.

The latest surrender adds another positive development to the peace and security efforts in Bukidnon, showing that the door remains open for those who choose to abandon armed violence and return to a lawful life.

₱300K PHONE DEAL UNMASKS MAKATI ROBBERY PLOT: CHINESE NATIONAL, 2 OTHERS COLLARED

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a Chinese national and two Filipino suspects after an alleged robbery attempt during a ₱300,000.00 cellular phone transaction in Makati City on September 3, 2026.

The suspects were identified as alias “Lulu,” a 27-year-old Chinese national and resident of Pasay City; alias “James,” 19; and alias “Leif,” 24, both residents of Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

The victims met the suspects for the scheduled cellular phone purchase along Amorsolo Street. During the transaction, the suspects allegedly forcibly took one of the victims aboard their vehicle, prompting the other victim to pursue them and call for police assistance. Responding officers intercepted a black Ford Territory and a silver Toyota Fortuner, leading to the arrest of the three suspects before they could leave the vicinity.

Police recovered a Ta**us 9mm pistol loaded with seven live rounds of ammunition and a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live rounds. Also seized were assorted license plates bearing different plate numbers, cellular phones, personal belongings, two heat-sealed transparent sachets containing approximately 1.8 grams of suspected shabu, and two glass tubes with suspected drug residue.

The suspects underwent mandatory medical examination before being brought to the Makati City Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. Complaints for Attempted Robbery, violations of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Republic Act No. 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, Grave Coercion, and Usurpation of Authority or Official Functions were referred for appropriate proceedings.

“Police officers must remain vigilant and decisive when criminal activity threatens public safety. This operation demonstrates the importance of immediate police action in preventing an alleged crime from escalating and ensuring that suspects are brought before the proper authorities,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi natin pahihintulutan na gamitin ang ating bansa bilang lugar ng karahasan at krimen, lalo na kung dayuhan ang sangkot. Anuman ang kanilang lahi o katayuan, mananagot sa batas ang sinumang lalabag dito,” he added.

EASTERN VISAYAS’ 4TH AND 5TH MOST WANTED PERSONS FOR R**E FALL IN LUZON

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested two Regional Most Wanted Persons of Region 8 for r**e in separate operations conducted in Quezon Province and Caloocan City on September 3, 2026.

First arrested was alias “Gino,” a 21-year-old Filipino male construction worker and No. 5 Regional Most Wanted Person of Region 8. He was apprehended at Buenaventura Alandy National High School in Barangay Ibabang Bukal, Tayabas, Quezon Province, by virtue of a warrant of arrest for R**e under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended.

Later that day, alias “Ben,” an 18-year-old Filipino male and No. 4 Regional Most Wanted Person of Region 8, was arrested in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. He was likewise apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for R**e under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended.

The arrests were carried out by personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division–Regional Special Operations Unit 8 (RID-RSOU-8), together with the Area Counterintelligence Section of the Regional Intelligence Division, NCRPO (ACS-RID, NCRPO), in coordination with the Biri Municipal Police Station and other concerned police units. Intelligence gathering, verification, surveillance, and sustained information-sharing enabled the police to track and confirm the whereabouts of the two wanted persons despite their presence outside Region 8.

Following their arrest, both individuals were informed of the nature and cause of their arrest and apprised of their constitutional rights in a language known to and understood by them. They were subsequently brought to the ACS-RID, NCRPO custodial facility at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City, for documentation and proper disposition.

The operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda, which strengthens intelligence-led police operations and accountability, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the arrests demonstrate the PNP’s firm resolve to pursue wanted persons regardless of where they may hide.

“Distance and jurisdictional boundaries will not deter our law enforcement efforts. We will use every lawful means available to locate wanted persons and bring them before the proper authorities,” PGEN Nartatez said.

He also underscored the importance of securing justice for victims of serious crimes.

“Hindi titigil ang PNP sa pagtugis sa mga wanted person, saan man sila magtago. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating mga operasyon upang maibigay sa mga biktima ang hustisyang nararapat sa kanila,” he added.

The arrests of Region 8’s No. 4 and No. 5 Most Wanted Persons for r**e underscore the PNP’s firm pursuit of individuals wanted for serious offenses, even beyond their home region.
