๐๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ญ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ โ A back to back mini workshop was facilitated by the LSI Center Manager Ms. Olivia L. Palomaria in critical thinking and the 4 Components of teamwork. The session aimed to strengthen the staff to function effectively as a team, achieve common goal and maintain a quality performance. Four (4) student immersionist from Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) joined the staff in the activity.
The workshop took off with the staff and immersionists grouped into homogeneous and heterogeneous teams. In the first activity, participants were divided into two homogeneous groups: the staff comprised the first group, while the immersionists formed the second. The objective of this activity was to encourage participants to perceive beyond the obvious. A picture was presented, and each group was given a short period to observe, describe, and draw conclusions based on what they saw. After the activity, both groups presented their outputs.
For the second activity, participants were reorganized into three small heterogeneous groups, mixing both staff and immersionists. This setup aimed to determine which type of groupingโhomogeneous or heterogeneousโwould be more productive. Each group was instructed to listen carefully to a scenario described by the facilitator, showing the previously observed picture. The objective of this task was to challenge participants to accomplish a common goal within a very limited time frame.
During the workshop phase, all 3 small groups demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills, strategizing as a team to achieve their objective. Their presentations showcased excellent teamwork, highlighting their communication, cooperation, competence, and commitment, which are the 4Cโs of TEAMWORK.
Ms. Palomaria emphasized the importance of fostering a collaborative work environment where team members can communicate openly, support each other, and continuously develop their skills. She also provided constructive feedback and actionable strategies to help staff overcome challenges and enhance their professional growth. The session concluded with reflections and goal-setting activities to encourage continuous improvement and commitment to excellence.
