The Calanasan Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Office successfully conducted its Information Education Campaign (IEC) on Basic Tourism Reception and Cultural Awareness across Barangays Poblacion, Butao, and Sta. Filomena.
This continuing initiative aims to equip local communities with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver exceptional visitor experiences, encourage local tourism investments, and safeguard Calanasan's rich cultural heritage. The ultimate vision of this program is to reach and empower every barangay throughout the municipality.
Ms. Rebecca Tamaken-Mamba, Provincial Tourism Officer, delivered an engaging presentation centered on four vital pillars:
Sustainable Development: Promoting long-term environmental and economic balance so tourism benefits generations to come.
Livelihood Programs: Unlocking economic opportunities and alternative income streams for local residents through tourism initiatives.
Community-Based Tourism: Empowering grassroots communities to take the lead in managing and benefiting from local tourist attractions.
Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE): Elevating local hospitality standards by anchoring customer service in genuine warmth, care, and the unique Filipino identity.
Mr. Joypeace Llapitan, Tourism Operations Officer I, focused on Cultural Preservation and Protection, emphasizing how safeguarding our traditions, indigenous identity, and historical roots is critical to responsible tourism growth.
The interactive sessions were warmly received and actively attended by dedicated Barangay Officials, Local Business Owners, Aspiring and Active Tour Guides, and enthusiastic community members.
