ORIENTATION: WHAT IS YOUTH FOR CHAnge?
YOUTH CHAllenge FOR CHAnge
As widespread poverty faces our nation today, realizing the teachings on the Filipino youth's noble role and moral obligation for change from Calamba's favorite son and national hero, G*t Jose Rizal must be translated in to concrete actions and dedicated service for the sector and Calambeños, in general.
As the hope of the future and inheritors of the country's glorious past, it lies on our Calambeño youth's commitment and determination to decisively act together for the best interests of their fellow people of Calamba towards genuine social change.
The change we need is rooted on promoting, advancing and defending the rights, welfare and well-being of every Calambeño youth at all times and at all cost. Only through collective and consistent action can our youth follow the footsteps of Rizal and other youth leaders from different generations whose heroic acts led to significant and meaningful changes in our society.
YOUTH FOR CHAnge
Calambeño youth must take advantage of this historic moment in our time that we have victoriously elected a young woman leader as our Lone District's representative at the Lower House, Cong. CHA Hernandez, to unleash the full potential of the sector in making our role as agents of change possible.
Cong. CHA believes that our young generation's idealism and ability to make change possible can only be made if they are educated and grounded to the needs of their communites. They need to be champions of hope and change for them to contribute honor and excellence to our beloved City of Calamba.
Thus, I AM CHAnge Movement, the multisectoral citizens organization of the Office of Cong. CHA Hernandez gives birth to the establishment of its youth arm, dubbed as Youth For CHAnge that will cater young individuals and groups from different barangays of Calamba.
Youth For CHAnge will focus on advocating good governance as the fundamental value for government officials to be able to deliver appropriate and effective social services for our Calambeño youth and people; as well pushing for reforms and change that will address issues of education, welfare, rights, safe cyberspace and leadership capacity formation for the youth in our District.
We aim to form the broadest number of Youth For CHAnge chapters across our congressional District and tap the most numbers of established youth organizations and institutions like the Sangguniang Kabataan councils, Student Councils, campus publications, parish youth organizations, faith-based youth groups among others.
Through these efforts, we can prepare our youth in becoming the next breed of furure leaders of Calamba that will fully realize their noble tasks and obligation as the social conscience and lightbearers of change of our nation.
WHAT WE DO?
Aside from organizing our youths to be members of Youth For CHAnge, forming chapters and reaching out to all possible youth groups, we aim to deliver the following initial lists of programs and services:
- Institutionalize the "FACES OF CHAnge: The Annual Calamba Youth Excellence Awards
- PAGBABAGO CUP: Inter-Barangay Sports Festival
- PANDAYANG KABATAAN: Mobile Youth Leadership Trainings and Workshop
- YOUTH CHAmp CAMP: Youth Assemblies and Summits
- EduCHAmpion: Scholarship and Educational Assistance Program
- Job Matching and Job Fairs
- Paskuhang Kabataan
