More than 200 employees of Ponderosa Leather Goods participated in a Productivity 101 Orientation aimed at helping improve work efficiency, teamwork, and overall productivity on 04 May 2026 at the Ponderosa Building in Antipolo City, Province of Rizal.

The activity was facilitated by Mr. Gener C. Rivera, Information Technology Officer I and Head Trainer for Productivity of RTWPB IVA. Participants included both management staff and glove sewers from different production lines, showing the companyโ€™s strong commitment to developing all its employees.

During the orientation, employees learned about the important role of management in guiding daily operations, as well as how workers can contribute by being more efficient, disciplined, and cooperative. Mr. Rivera explained that when management and employees work well together, it leads to better product quality, happier customers, and lower costs.

Through this initiative, Ponderosa Leather Goods continues to encourage a culture where employees take responsibility, work productively, and support one another across all levels of the organization.

Today, we take a moment to recognize the people behind every workplace, the Filipino workers whose dedication, perseverance, and hard work continue to move our communities and our country forward.

As we celebrate, RTWPB IV A remains committed to its role in promoting fair and balanced minimum wage policies. We understand that wages are more than just numbers. They help provide for families, support daily needs, and shape the quality of life of every worker. That is why we continue to work toward wage decisions that are responsive to the realities faced by workers, while also supporting businesses to grow and create more opportunities.

This Labor Day, we stand in solidarity with all workers and reaffirm our commitment to decent work, dignity, and fairness. Together, let us continue building a future where every worker feels valued, supported, and empowered.

Following the completion of the 2025-2026 minimum wage review cycle, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) are preparing for the next round of wage review cycle beginning May 2026 in the National Capital Region.

Concerns related to the Middle East situation, its effects on prices of basic commodities and its impact on wages, shall be taken into consideration during the next minimum wage review cycle, consistent with the rules on minimum wage review process. The NWPC and RTWPBs are also closely monitoring the socioeconomic conditions in their respective regions.
This follows the standing directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for a timely review of regional minimum wage rates to reduce economic uncertainty and foster a stronger link between productivity and fair pay, ensuring that wage growth remains balanced with business viability.
