On May 3, 2025 (Saturday), the community of Zone 5, Barangay 26, Cagayan de Oro City was filled with learning, laughter, and teamwork as Capitol University NSTP, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan Barangay 26 Council, successfully conducted MOVE PHILIPPINES: Ready, Set, Prepare! — a flood game-based disaster training for children aged 15 and below.
From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a total of 68 child participants enthusiastically engaged in interactive, educational games and activities aimed at teaching basic disaster preparedness concepts, especially on flood response and safety. The event utilized fun, experiential learning to help instill practical knowledge and awareness among the young participants.
This meaningful initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of multiple stakeholders. The Barangay 26 Council and Pakigbisog Homeowners Association provided vital support, including logistical assistance and lending essential equipment, which contributed greatly to the success and smooth conduct of the event.
The activity demonstrated how collaboration between schools, local youth councils, and community organizations can effectively empower children with life-saving knowledge while fostering a sense of responsibility and community resilience.
