CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY | AUGUST 17, 2026 β€” Major General Ronel R. Manalo, Commander, Armor (Pambato) Division, Philippine Army, conducted a command visit to the Headquarters of the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate) at Camp Edilberto P. Evangelista, Brgy. Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

During the visit, Captain Ma. Lily Teresa A. Salazar, Commanding Officer of the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate), presented the unit’s operational readiness, accomplishments, ongoing activities, and best practices. The briefing highlighted the company’s continuing efforts to strengthen personnel development, accountability, logistics, maintenance, and overall mission preparedness.

Afterwards, Maj. Gen. Manalo delivered his message and command guidance underscoring Respect, Relevance, and Mettle (RRM) as the guiding principles of the Armor trooper in fulfilling their duties. He emphasized that respect must be earned from personnel, stakeholders, and even the enemyβ€”through competence, discipline, and moral authority. He further stressed that relevance is measured by the unit’s decisive contribution to the mission accomplishments of Joint Task Force Diamond and its meaningful impact on the lives of the Filipino people. Finally, he highlighted mettle as the defining character of the Karangalan Troopers, building them to be courageous, resilient, and tenacious in the face of adversity. Moreover, he commended the 4Cav Coy (S) for faithfully adhering to this guidance, as reflected in their accomplishments and best practices.

The visit culminated in a Talk to Karangalan Troopers, where Maj. Gen. Manalo encouraged the Karangalan Troopers to embody the Command Guidance – RRM: Respect, Relevance, and Mettle, and the Division’s core values encapsulated in PAMBATO: Proficiency, Accountability, Motivation and morale, Bravery, Adaptability, Teamwork, and Outstanding Service. He emphasized that these values form the enduring foundation of the Armor Division, shaping soldiers who are capable, resilient, and mission focused.

Maj. Gen. Manalo reminded the Karangalan Troopers that their commitment to excellence must be reflected in every aspect of their service: performing duties with competence, leading with integrity, steadfast in adversity, working as a cohesive team, and consistently delivering outstanding service in support of the mission.

The command visit further strengthened the bond between division leadership and the troops in the field. The Karangalan Troopers expressed their heartfelt gladness in welcoming Maj. Gen. Manalo and the Division Staff, extending to them their utmost respect and deepest gratitude.

With this, the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company strengthened its commitment to operational excellence, professional development, and mission accomplishment in support of Joint Task Force Diamond in sustaining peace and development across Northern Mindanao and the CARAGA Regions.

The 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate), Armor Division, Philippine Army, actively participated in a mangrove planting activity in partnership with the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO)–Region 10 and the Mundo Muna Youth Organization at Sitio Punta, Barangay Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City on August 15, 2026.

A total of 100 mangrove seedlings were planted, underscoring the unit’s commitment to environmental protection, climate action, and meaningful community engagement.

The activity aimed to promote public awareness and appreciation of environmental protection and conservation, contribute to global efforts in addressing climate change and mitigating its adverse environmental impacts, and strengthen partnerships and expand networks with various stakeholders in support of the unit’s community engagement and environmental conservation initiatives.

Through this initiative, the Karangalan Company continues to foster strong partnerships with government agencies, youth organizations, and other stakeholders while promoting environmental stewardship and collective responsibility. The activity likewise demonstrates the unit’s commitment to contributing to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable communities in Northern Mindanao and CARAGA Regions.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY | AUGUST 14, 2026 β€” The Karangalan Troopers of the 4th Cavalry β€œKarangalan” Company (Separate), Armor Division, Philippine Army actively participated in the monthly Creek Clean-Up Drive at Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City, together with barangay officials and civilian volunteers.

The initiative supported the National Policy on Solid Waste Management, particularly Republic Act No. 9003 or the β€œPhilippine Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000,” by promoting environmental awareness, responsible waste management, and community participation in protecting local waterways.

Beyond environmental protection, the activity provided an avenue for the Karangalan Troopers to strengthen partnerships and foster meaningful engagement with local stakeholders in line with the unit’s mission and community relations efforts.

The clean-up underscored the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding the environment. Proper waste disposal and responsible practices are vital in preventing pollution from reaching waterways and, ultimately, the oceanβ€”where it can cause long-term harm to marine ecosystems.

Through their active involvement, the Karangalan Troopers reaffirmed their commitment not only to military service but also to environmental stewardship and civic duty. ALEGRIA, SDN – Captain Ma. Lily Teresa A. Salazar, Commanding Officer, together with SSg Benchorlee B. Sevilla, Platoon Sergeant of the 1st Scout Platoon, 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate), Armor Division, PA, conducted a coordination meeting, facetoface dialogue, and courtesy call with Hon. Dominador G. Esma Jr., Municipal Mayor of Alegria, Surigao del Norte, in coordination with the 30th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, PA on August 10, 2026.

The engagement centered on the forthcoming Community Outreach Program at Camp Edward Elementary School, Barangay Camp Edward, Surigao del Norte. The activity will be conducted in partnership with PAFCIPIC Butuan Branch that includes the distribution of bags, school supplies, slippers, and snacks to pupils.

The initiative highlights the commitment of the Philippine Army, Local Government of Alegria, SDN, and its peace partners to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and bring meaningful support to the community, especially the young learners of Camp Edward Elementary School.
