CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY | AUGUST 17, 2026 β Major General Ronel R. Manalo, Commander, Armor (Pambato) Division, Philippine Army, conducted a command visit to the Headquarters of the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate) at Camp Edilberto P. Evangelista, Brgy. Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
During the visit, Captain Ma. Lily Teresa A. Salazar, Commanding Officer of the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate), presented the unitβs operational readiness, accomplishments, ongoing activities, and best practices. The briefing highlighted the companyβs continuing efforts to strengthen personnel development, accountability, logistics, maintenance, and overall mission preparedness.
Afterwards, Maj. Gen. Manalo delivered his message and command guidance underscoring Respect, Relevance, and Mettle (RRM) as the guiding principles of the Armor trooper in fulfilling their duties. He emphasized that respect must be earned from personnel, stakeholders, and even the enemyβthrough competence, discipline, and moral authority. He further stressed that relevance is measured by the unitβs decisive contribution to the mission accomplishments of Joint Task Force Diamond and its meaningful impact on the lives of the Filipino people. Finally, he highlighted mettle as the defining character of the Karangalan Troopers, building them to be courageous, resilient, and tenacious in the face of adversity. Moreover, he commended the 4Cav Coy (S) for faithfully adhering to this guidance, as reflected in their accomplishments and best practices.
The visit culminated in a Talk to Karangalan Troopers, where Maj. Gen. Manalo encouraged the Karangalan Troopers to embody the Command Guidance β RRM: Respect, Relevance, and Mettle, and the Divisionβs core values encapsulated in PAMBATO: Proficiency, Accountability, Motivation and morale, Bravery, Adaptability, Teamwork, and Outstanding Service. He emphasized that these values form the enduring foundation of the Armor Division, shaping soldiers who are capable, resilient, and mission focused.
Maj. Gen. Manalo reminded the Karangalan Troopers that their commitment to excellence must be reflected in every aspect of their service: performing duties with competence, leading with integrity, steadfast in adversity, working as a cohesive team, and consistently delivering outstanding service in support of the mission.
The command visit further strengthened the bond between division leadership and the troops in the field. The Karangalan Troopers expressed their heartfelt gladness in welcoming Maj. Gen. Manalo and the Division Staff, extending to them their utmost respect and deepest gratitude.
With this, the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company strengthened its commitment to operational excellence, professional development, and mission accomplishment in support of Joint Task Force Diamond in sustaining peace and development across Northern Mindanao and the CARAGA Regions.
