DTI R10 Misamis Oriental’s Trade-Industry Development Analyst, Engr. Jebirose Kaamino flexes her Citronella Oil from MAMACILA Inc.

Mat-i Man-ibay Civoleg Langguyod Higaonon Tribal Community (MAMACILA Inc.), a Higaonon cooperator engaged in green livelihood in Claveria and Gingoog City, is one of the beneficiaries of the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project amounting to PHP959,557.49 worth of equipment and facilities from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental for the upgrading of its Civoleg Citronella Processing Center.

MAMACILA Citronella Oil Processing started way back in 2006 under the partnership of the Non-Timber Forest Products - Exchange Program (NTFP-EP) in the Philippines and Upland Marketing Foundation Inc. (UMFI). The Citronella Oil Processing is currently located at Sitio Civoleg, Brgy. Lunotan, Gingoog City. The processing system makes use of an improvised extraction system. Through the years, the Citronella Oil Processing unit has become a learning center for the Higaonon community showing them that income generation is possible from this enterprise.
