RDC-X InfraCom TWG on Energy Infrastructure Convenes First Meeting

The Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) Infrastructure and Utilities Development Committee (InfraCom) convened the First Meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Energy Infrastructure to address key issues affecting power supply, system reliability, energy security, and the region’s transition toward a more sustainable energy future.

The meeting brought together representatives from energy agencies, power utilities, grid and generation sector stakeholders, government institutions, and development partners to strengthen coordination on critical energy concerns in Northern Mindanao.

Discussions covered the Mindanao power supply and demand situation and outlook, the status of major energy projects in the region, recent developments affecting the Mindanao Grid, and their implications for power reliability. The TWG also discussed initiatives involving the transition of existing generation capacity and the rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Hydropower Plant Complex.

Updates on the implementation of Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) and other consumer choice programs were also presented, with emphasis on improving stakeholder information and awareness.

The TWG identified key follow-through actions to strengthen inter-agency coordination, support power system reliability, advance energy efficiency and conservation, and provide continuing policy and technical guidance on energy-related programs and investments in Northern Mindanao.

Through sustained collaboration, the TWG aims to contribute to a more reliable, resilient, and sustainable energy sector for Northern Mindanao.

Opol, Misamis Oriental - The RDC-X Ad hoc Committee for Metro CDM convened its Second Semester 2026 Meeting, presided over by Hon. Mayor Jayfrancis D. Bago of Opol, Misamis Oriental, to discuss priority concerns affecting the mobility, sustainability, resilience, and development of the metropolitan area.

The meeting brought together representatives from concerned local government units, national government agencies, and other stakeholders to discuss Cagayan de Oro City’s traffic situation and economic implications, pipeline bypass and major connectivity projects, the protection of Metro CDM’s water resources, and potential waste-to-energy and solid waste management investments.

The meeting underscored the Committee’s commitment to fostering stronger inter-LGU collaboration and convergence in addressing concerns that transcend individual jurisdictions and in advancing a more connected, resilient, and sustainable Metro Cagayan de Misamis.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Regional Development Council-X (RDC-X) held the Third Quarter 2026 Joint Meeting of the Tri-Committee, comprising the Macro and Development Administration Committee (MacroCom), Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC), and Inter-Agency Committee for Conflict Resolution of Tenurial Claims (IAC-CRTC), today at the DEPDev-X/RDC Building, this city.

Presided over by RDC-X MacroCom Chairperson and Camiguin Governor Hon. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, the Tri-Committee deliberated on key policy, planning, investment programming, budget, regulatory, and land use and water concerns affecting Northern Mindanao.

The meeting underscored the RDC-X’s commitment to inter-agency convergence, strategic investments, regulatory efficiency, and coordinated development responsive to the region’s priorities.

The DEPDev-X, serving as the Mindanao Sub-National Secretariat, successfully hosted the Mindanao Sub-National Competition of the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards (PFA) on 29 July 2026 at Aya Hotel & Residences in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.

From smarter farming and sustainable agriculture to innovative construction and resilient emergency response, four homegrown innovations emerged as Mindanao’s finalists to the 2026 PFA National Competition:

3rd Quarter 2026 RDC-X Regional Project Monitoring Committee Meeting

Today’s RPMC-X meeting focused on strengthening regional project monitoring and evaluation, improving RPMES compliance and local project monitoring, and advancing proposals to strengthen regional representation in the National Project Monitoring Committee.

The Committee also reviewed findings from recent field monitoring visits, the Second Quarter 2026 RPMES Report, and updates on major development projects in Northern Mindanao, including flood resilience, transport connectivity, fisheries and coastal resiliency, agro-enterprise development, and the Kapalong–Talaingod Road.

Strengthening project monitoring for more responsive, effective, and results-oriented development in Northern Mindanao.
