Usa kini ka inisyatiba sa City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) aron mapalambo ang kahibalo ug pagpakabana sa mga Indigenous Peoples (IPs), diin gitambongan kini sa mga piniling partisipante gikan sa mga barangay sa Distrito Uno. Lakip niini ang mga ginikanan, kabatan-onan, ug mga lider sa komunidad aron mapalawom ang ilang pagsabot sa mga balaod nga nagpanalipod sa kabataan batok sa sayo nga kaminyoon ug online sexual abuse ug exploitation. Pinaagi niining kalihokana, gipalig-on ang paningkamot sa komunidad sa pag-amuma, pag-atiman, ug pagdepensa sa kaugmaon sa kabataan.

Gitambongan usab kini sa Council of Elders uban ni Roger Butlig, mga opisyal sa Barangay Bayanga ubos sa pagpanguna ni Punong Barangay Hon. Felipe Baang, kauban ang Barangay IPMR nga si Loida Tolilis, Punong Barangay sa Besigan nga si Hon. Samuel Minister, Barangay IPMR sa Tumpagon nga si Alfonso Locnoran, ug si Atty. Phoebe Karren Malinda isip representante sa City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Ang maong programa gisuportahan usab sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region X ug Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Region X. Ang mga resource speakers mao sila si Atty. Ricardo V. Mateo, Regional Hearing Officer, nga mipahigayon og diskusyon kabahin sa Republic Act 11596 o Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, ug si Atty. Kristine Gaudiel, Focal Person sa OSAEC/CSAEM, nga mituki sa Republic Act 11930 o Anti-OSAEC ug Anti-CSAEM Act.

Nagpakita usab og suporta ang City Administrator nga si Mr. Roy Hilario P. Raagas pinaagi sa paghatod sa mensahe sa atong halangdong Mayor. Sumala sa mensahe ni Mayor: “Dili nato kalimtan ang atong identidad ug padayon natong suportahan ug panalipdan ang atong mga IP tungod kay sila ang atong garbo ug simbolo sa atong kultura. Bisan pa sa pag-uswag sa kalibutan, atong ipadayon ang pagpreserba ug pag-suporta kanila.”

Gipadayag usab niya ang padayon nga suporta sa lokal nga panggamhanan alang sa mga tribu sa Dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro, ug ang pagrespeto sa ilang kulturanhong pamatasan ilabi na sa makabagong panahon.

Mas nahimong mabulokon ang kalihokan pinaagi sa pasundayag sa Bayanga Higaonon Dancers. Natapos ang programa uban sa aktibong interaksyon sa diskusyon diin daghang kaalam ang nadawat sa mga kabatan-onang IPs, ginikanan, kababayen-an, mga Bae, ug mga Datu nga mitambong.

4𝚝𝚑 𝙷𝙰𝙽𝙳𝚄𝙶𝙰 𝙷𝚄 𝚃𝚁𝙸𝙱𝚄: 𝙰 𝚂𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚏 𝚂𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚎𝚜!

The 4th Handuga Hu Tribu continues its journey this April 08, 2026, marking a meaningful season of summer sharing. The Council of Elders (COE) of Cagayan de Oro, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) – IP Section headed by Nena “Bae Rose” U. Lumandong, and the City College of Cagayan de Oro represented by Dr. Charlie Job D. Sumili, successfully conducted the 4th Handuga Hu Tribu (Outreach Program) in Barangay Besigan, Cagayan de Oro City led by Barangay Captain/Datu Samuel Minister.

It was a joyous and heartwarming day for the IP students and senior citizens. A total of 120 selected IP students received slippers and ice cream, along with 50 pairs of socks raffled off during the event. In addition, 20 selected IP senior citizens were given 5 kilos of rice each.

The beneficiaries and the wider IP community of Besigan also received 200 fruit seedlings and 20 packs of eggplant seeds, generously sponsored by the Agricultural Productivity Office (APO), along with champorado from the CSWD.

Despite facing challenges such as transportation difficulties and the rising cost of fuel, the team remained steadfast and successfully carried out the activity. With hearts grounded in commitment and driven by love and a spirit of sharing, nothing is impossible.

PANIKA HA PUSAKA GENERAL ASSEMBLY & ELECTION OF OFFICERS 2026

Niadtong Marso 3–4, 2026, ang Panika Ha Pusaka nagpahigayon sa ilang General Assembly ug Election of Officers didto sa Gloryville Farm, Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City. Ang maong kalihokan nagtigom sa mga kababayen-an sa tribu aron magtinabangay, magpalig-on sa ilang organisasyon, ug magpili sa mga lider nga maggiya sa mga kalihokan ug programa alang sa komunidad.

Ang aktibidad nahimong posible tungod sa suporta ug pakigtambayayong sa Lilak, nga gipangunahan ni Ms. Che, kauban ang Samdhana Institute pinaagi ni Bing Mordeno, ug ang CSWD IP Section Team nga gipangulohan ni Bae Rose Lumandong. Ang ilang padayon nga suporta dako kaayo nga tabang sa pagpalig-on sa partisipasyon ug liderato sa mga Indigenous Peoples (IP) nga kababayen-an.

Ang Panika Ha Pusaka, usa ka Higaonon IP Women Federation, nagpadayon sa paghiusa sa mga kababayen-an sa tribu aron mahimong kusgan nga tinubdan sa kausaban ug kalamboan sa ilang komunidad. Ang maong panagtapok nagpakita sa tinguha sa matag babaye nga makatampo sa pagpalambo sa tribu ug sa pagpanalipod sa ilang kultura, katungod, ug kaugmaon.

Nahiuyon usab kini sa tema nga: “Ang Kababayen-an sa Tribu Nagtinabangay sa Edukasyon, Liderato, ug Aktibong Partisipasyon sa Pagpalig-on sa Komunidad.”
