As provided for under Section 476 of RA 7160, the PPDO shall be responsible for coordinating in the formulation of continuing and integrated socio-economic development plans, policies and programs, including the formu

lation of annual and medium-term public investment programs, programming of official development assistance in the form of grants and concessional loans from foreign governments and multilateral agencies and organizations.

APRIL 28, 2026 // ORIENTATION ON THE GUIDELINES FOR RICE DISTRIBUTION UNDER THE FY 2026 LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FUND (LGSF)

Proactively addressing the rising costs of basic commodities, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), recently concluded the Orientation on the Guidelines for Rice Distribution under the FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

The orientation brought together key provincial officials, including Planning and Development Coordinators and Social Welfare and Development Officers (PSWDO) of the province. The session focused on the implementation of Executive Order No. 110, s. 2026, also known as the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Response Framework where local government units (LGUs) align their local projects with the UPLIFT framework to ensure a unified response to economic challenges.

The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental through the Provincial Planning and Development Office continues to work closely with DILG Region X to ensure that all administrative requirements are met, paving the way for a smooth and efficient distribution rollout that will greatly benefit our fellow Misamisnons.

APRIL 27, 2026 // PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

Focusing on key economic initiatives aimed to bolster provincial growth and development, the Provincial Development Council (PDC) Executive Committee of Misamis Oriental was successfully convened at the DTI Misamis Oriental Conference Room.

The primary agenda of the session was the presentation of the Promoting Sustainability and Productivity for Enterprise Resilience and Upscaling in the Philippines (ProSPER) Project, a strategic initiative by DTI to ensure that businesses in the province can maintain productivity and remain resilient amid evolving market challenges.

The meeting focused on the endorsement of this significant national project designed to upscale local enterprises, and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving the province's vision of progress.

APRIL 23, 2026 // TRANSCEND KEY INFORMANT INTERVIEWS

Strengthening our commitment to environmental resilience, the Provincial planning and Development Office recently participated in the Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) conducted by the Transformative Actions for Climate and Ecological Protection and Development (TRANSCEND) Project, a high-level initiative implemented by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

The interviews focused on identifying specific implementation gaps within current climate and biodiversity programs. By engaging directly with provincial leadership, the TRANSCEND Project aims to refine "entry points" for governance support, ensuring that future interventions are both data-driven and culturally relevant to Misamis Oriental.

The findings from these interviews will form the foundation for upcoming technical assistance and capacity-building programs designed to protect the province’s diverse ecosystems and enhance its disaster preparedness in the face of a changing climate for a more resilient and safe Misamis Oriental.

Project: Clean Air is in Full Swing!

The Administrative Division is breathing new life into our workspace! We’ve officially kicked off Operation: Clean Air – a dedicated maintenance initiative for the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO).

To ensure we all have a cooler, healthier, and more productive environment, we’ve teamed up with the experts from the PGSO Maintenance Team to give our air conditioning units the deep clean they deserve.

What's Happening?

1. Deep Cleaning: Removing of dust and Allergens to improve air quality.

2. Efficiency Boost: Helping our units run smoother and save energy.

3. Preventive Care: Catching minor issues before they become big headaches.

PPMIU MEETING

Pursuing the province's commitment to sustainable agricultural development, the Provincial Project Management and Implementation Unit (PPMIU) Meeting was held successfully.

Participated by PPMIU Unit Heads and Focal Persons, the meeting revisited the re-organization, composition and functions of the PPMIU. Discussions also included the presentation of the different Projects, Programs, and Activities for inclusion on the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) as basis for the Philippine Rural Development Plan (PRDP) subprojects to boost value-chain development and align local initiatives with national goals.

The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) remain steadfast in the coordination and formulation of continuing and integrated socio-economic plans, projects and programs that will benefit our fellow Misamisnons.
