The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X, through its Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs) Unit, successfully conducted the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 for ongoing and prospective COSCHO scholars, together with their families. It was also attended by personnel from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and HEI focal persons from Region X and BARMM.

The activity also served as a platform to clarify concerns and ensure that ongoing and aspiring scholars, families, partner HEIs, and coconut farming communities are properly informed of the program's policies and guidelines.

The successful conduct of the 2026 Information Caravan underscores CHEDRO X's commitment to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the COSCHO program.

𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐎 𝐗 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🥳

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X, together with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and partner agencies, culminated the 2026 ASEAN Month Celebration on August 27, 2026, in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.

The event, hosted by Tangub City Global College and co-hosted by ALCU X, featured a Solidarity Parade of ASEAN Nations, cultural performances, along with the presentation of the accomplishment report and plans of the International Relations Officers Network (IRON-X). Dr. Rolito Eballe, President of Central Mindanao University and Regional Chair of PASUC X, served as the Keynote Speaker. The event also highlighted the recognition of internationally-ranked HEIs, and awarding of winners of the Digital Poster-Making Contest and the CHED Tourism Start-up Challenge.

With the Philippines taking the ASEAN Chairship in 2026 under the theme, “𝘕𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳,” CHEDRO X joins the collective effort toward a more connected, resilient, and people-centered ASEAN. This direction reflects the Commission’s 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚, creating greater opportunities for learners, educators, researchers, and HEIs to connect and contribute beyond our borders.

Together, let us continue to build bridges from Northern Mindanao to ASEAN and the world, turning our shared vision for internationalized and globally connected higher education into action.

The MSRS Program supports deserving Filipino students pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree in partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), in exchange for return service in underserved communities after graduation.

✅ Who may apply?
• Filipino citizens and not more than 51 years old at the time of application
• Graduating or a graduate of an appropriate undergraduate program identified as a prerequisite for a Doctor of Medicine degree, from any HEI duly recognized by CHED, including a direct entrant to the Integrated Liberal Arts and Medicine (INTARMED) Program who satisfactorily completes the first two (2) years of the Program
• Students enrolled or admitted in an MSRS partner HEI
• Applicants who obtained a National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) score mandated by CHED and required by the partner HEIs where the student intends to enroll in.

The activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of Maritime Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) across Mindanao in outcomes-based program alignment and support the validation of maritime qualifications, particularly for the 𝐁𝐒 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐒𝐌𝐓) and 𝐁𝐒 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐁𝐒𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐄) programs.

Through collaborative discussions, guided validation exercises, and sharing of best practices, CHED, MARINA, and HEI representatives work together toward quality, relevant, and globally competitive maritime higher education.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X, through the UniFAST Unit, conducted the Orientation on the 2026 Revised Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) Guidelines for Focal Persons from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region X, held on August 17, 2026, at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity provided HEI focal persons with updates and clarifications on the revised guidelines for TES and TDP, including discussions on program implementation and the presentation of relevant ICT systems to support the effective and efficient delivery of UniFAST programs. An open forum provided participants with the opportunity to seek clarification on the new provisions of the revised guidelines and share the issues they are experiencing in the implementation of TES and TDP programs in their respective institutions.

The orientation served as a venue for strengthening coordination and ensuring that HEI partners are well-informed and prepared to implement the updated guidelines for the benefit of student beneficiaries across Region X.
