CANITOAN HEALTH CENTER held
the Family Health Awareness and Promotion Program (FHAHP) Class last May 20-21,2026, was successfully conducted at the St. Therese Learning Center Covered Court. A total of 41 participants composed of adolescents, pregnant women, adults, and senior citizens successfully completed and graduated from the program.
The activity formally started with an opening prayer led by BHW Elvie Reyes, followed by the singing of the Pambansang Awit. During the first day of the activity, a warm welcome address was delivered by Zone 6 Kagawad Hon. May Ann Jacob. This was followed by a short message from PHN Ms. Flordeluna Yanez, emphasizing the importance of health education and community participation in promoting wellness. The first day concluded with closing remarks from Midwife Mae L. Cloma.
On the second day, participants were welcomed by the Barangay Committee on Health Chairperson, Hon. Isagani Legaspi. An inspiring message was also delivered by Punong Barangay Hon. Lancelot Padla, followed by another meaningful message from the Canitoan Health Center Medical Officer, Dr. Lorraine Jungco-Nery, who encouraged the participants to continue practicing healthy lifestyles and to share the knowledge they gained with their families and community.
The activity was also graced by several visitors and partners including BHW Coordinator Ms. Rowena Yu, Mary Jane Ebarat from HEPU, PT Marc Amiel Montemayor, SI Michelle Mundo, and Halamang Gamot Coordinator Trooper Mandaya, Brgy VAWC Desk Officer Mylene Diwata, and Barangay Administrator Mr. Loister Duyog.
Representatives from the Dental Department also participated and distributed oral health kits to the participants as part of the oral health promotion campaign.
The FHAHP Class started with a pre-test to assess the participants’ initial knowledge and concluded with a post-test to evaluate the learning gained throughout the activity. The two-day program ended with a graduation ceremony recognizing the successful completion of the participants.
The Canitoan Health Center personnel and staff also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Canitoan Barangay Council for their generous support, particularly for providing 3 kls of rice to the participants. The activity became successful through the cooperation and support of the barangay officials, health workers, partner agencies, and the active participation of the community members.
