𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐒

Today, I attended the Committee Meeting on Laws and Rules chaired by Hon. Atty. Ed Cabanlas, where several important matters affecting our city were thoroughly discussed and deliberated.

Among the agenda taken up were:

• Resolution No. 2, Series of 2026 of the Local School Board recommending the conversion of Fr. William F. Masterson, SJ Elementary School into Fr. William SJ Integrated School in Barangay Balulang.

• Proposed Ordinance No. 2025-0037 seeking amendments to the City’s curfew regulations for minors and the corresponding penalties for violations.

• Proposed revision and formulation of a City Ordinance reorganizing the composition of the Governing Board of the City College of Cagayan de Oro.

• Concerns raised by the Federation of Uptown Village Homeowners Associations, Inc. (FUVHOAS) regarding the revised Fair Market Values of Real Properties under City Ordinance No. 14900-2024.

• Endorsement from the Cagayan de Oro Water District regarding OGCC Opinion No. 028, Series of 2026, on conflicting LGU resolutions involving water system management in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

As your city councilor, I remain committed to carefully studying proposed measures and ensuring that policies and ordinances are responsive to the needs and welfare of every Kagay-anon.

This evening, I joined Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, fellow members of the 21st City Council, Department head, and guests during the ceremonial opening of the El Pueblo A Sus Heroes Park at Divisoria.

May this landmark continue to inspire unity, civic pride, and a deeper appreciation for the legacy of our heroes.

Kauban sa atong kinatibuk-ang lokal nga panggamhanan sa Dakbayan sa Cagayan De Oro, kita mi alayon sa pagsaulog sa Pride Month ug sa pag-ila sa bililhong papel sa atong mga pinalangga nga LGBTQ+ community sa pagtukod sa mas lig-on, ug mas malipayon nga dakbayan.

Nagtuo ako nga ang matag Kagay-anon takos sa respeto, dignidad, ug patas nga oportunidad, bisan unsa pa man ang ilang gender identity o sexual orientation.

Sa atong panaghiusa, mas mapalig-on nato ang katilingban diin walay mabiyaan ug ang matag usa adunay lugar ug tingog.

Kauban ta UY, sa pagdasig sa gugma, pagrespeto, ug paghatag ug patas nga oportunidad alang sa tanan!

𝟑𝟗𝑻𝑯 𝑹𝑬𝑮𝑼𝑳𝑨𝑹 𝑺𝑬𝑺𝑺𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑶𝑭 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝟐𝟏𝑺𝑻 𝑪𝑰𝑻𝒀 𝑪𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑪𝑰𝑳

This afternoon, I attended the 39th Regular Session of the 21st City Council under the leadership of Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez.

During the previous session, we approved a Resolution of Congratulations and Appreciation honoring five Kagay-anon graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) who earned academic honors, recognizing their outstanding achievement and dedication to public service.

Among the significant matters we tackled today were measures aimed at ensuring the proper allocation of city funds for employee benefits, strengthening the governance structure of the City College of Cagayan de Oro in compliance with CHED standards, reorganizing council committee memberships, supporting the establishment of a Fish Landing and Fish Port Facility in Barangay Bonbon, and enhancing educational opportunities through a partnership with the Center for Educational Measurement (CEM) for college readiness testing and scholarship screening.

As a councilor, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote good governance, education, sustainable development, and the welfare of every Kagay-anon.
