The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) respects the right of elected officials to express their views on national matters. However, recent remarks made by Congressman Francisco “Kiko” Austria Barzaga Jr. are unfair to the dedicated men and women of the PCG.

According to PCG Spokesperson, Captain Noemie Cayabyab PCG, the PCG is a professional, disciplined, and accountable government agency that operates with full transparency and under civilian oversight. The Command welcomes public scrutiny, and any credible allegations of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with due process.

“The Command remains open to dialogue with Congressman Barzaga and all stakeholders in Congress to clarify misconceptions and strengthen cooperation toward maritime security and safety,” Captain Cayabyab said.

The PCG Spokesperson also emphasized that the PCG and the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) are two distinct entities, with the latter composed of civilian volunteers who assist in community-based and humanitarian missions.

“PCGA members are not active-duty PCG officers, and their honorary ranks do not confer authority or compensation,” she clarified.

“The PCG will continue to fulfill its mandates with integrity, courage, and selfless commitment to the Filipino people by protecting lives and upholding the rule of law at sea,” Captain Cayabyab furthered.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has emerged as the most trusted and best-performing government institution, according to the 3rd Quarter 2025 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Nationwide Survey conducted by OCTA Research from September 25 to 30, 2025.

The survey results reveal that 75% of Filipinos are satisfied with the PCG’s performance, while 71% express trust in the organization—figure largely driven by adult Filipinos across the country.

These findings reflect not only strong public approval of the PCG’s operational effectiveness but also highlight growing awareness of the organization’s visibility, professionalism, and institutional credibility.

The results also underscore the public’s recognition of the PCG’s discipline, competence, and leadership in ensuring maritime safety, disaster response, and the protection of the nation’s maritime rights, particularly in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Sa pinakahuling survey na isinagawa ng OCTA Research, lumabas na ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ay isa sa pinaka-pinagkakatiwalaang ahensya ng gobyerno ngayong taon!

Ayon sa OCTA Research, naganap ang 3rd Quarter 2025 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey noong ika-25 hanggang ika-30 ng Setyembre 2025 na nilahukan ng 1,200 Pilipino.

Sa naturang survey, kinilala ang tapat at mahusay na serbisyo ng PCG, gayundin ang kanilang paglilingkod upang maitaguyod ang soberanya ng bansa sa katubigang sakop ng West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Paglilinaw ng OCTA Research, isang “independent and non-partisan initiative” ang 3rd Quarter TNM Survey. Mula National Capital Region (NCR), Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao ang mga Pilipinong edad 18 taong gulang pataas na nakibahagi sa isinagawang face-to-face interview.

Ayon kay PCG Spokesperson, Captain Noemie Cayabyab PCG, lubos ang pasasalamat ng ahensya sa matibay na tiwala at suporta ng sambayanang Pilipino sa pagsasakatuparan ng kanilang mandato.

Pinasalamatan din ng PCG si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa patuloy na suporta sa modernisasyon ng ahensya, sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalawak ng bilang ng mga tauhan, barko, pasilidad, at iba pang kagamitan ng Coast Guard.

“Makakaasa po ang sambayanang Pilipino na mas lalo naming paiigtingin ang aming paglilingkod nang may pagmamahal sa bansa at pagkalinga sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino,” ani Captain Cayabyab.
