15TH STRIKE WING UNVEILS AND BLESSES WEST PHILIPPINE SEA MURAL AT LUMBIA AIR BASE

The 15th Strike Wing, Philippine Air Force, led by MGEN ROMAN M DIOSO PAF, Commander, Air Combat Command, and BGEN JOEL A INACAY PAF, Wing Commander, 15th Strike Wing, conducted the Unveiling and Blessing of the West Philippine Sea Mural at Lumbia Air Base, Cagayan de Oro City.

The blessing was officiated by CPT MEDARDO A JUMAMOY CHS, Base Chaplain, and was attended by officers and enlisted personnel of the 15th Strike Wing and 590th Air Base Group.

The mural stands as a meaningful representation of the Philippines’ sovereignty, territorial integrity, and enduring commitment to protecting our national interests. It also serves as a reminder of the dedication and vigilance of the men and women of the Philippine Air Force in the service of the Filipino people.

The mural will serve as a lasting source of awareness, inspiration, and patriotism for the civilian populace who see it each day. By keeping the West Philippine Sea in the public consciousness, it seeks to foster a deeper appreciation of our national sovereignty and encourage the continued support of the Filipino people for the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ advocacy in safeguarding our national interests.

15TH STRIKE WING CONDUCTS MONTHLY SAFETY MEETING

On 18 August 2026, the 15th Strike Wing conducted its Monthly Safety Meeting at Lumbia Air Base, Cagayan de Oro City, highlighting the importance of proactive safety, risk management, and mission readiness.

The meeting discussed Rainy Season Health Hazards, Safe Fi***rm Handling, and Safe Vehicle Operation during the Rainy Season, while recognizing personnel and units for their outstanding contributions to flight and safety programs.

In his guidance, the Wing Commander emphasized that safety must be PROACTIVE, not reactive, reminding every Trojan to remain vigilant, identify hazards, and take appropriate action before mishaps occur.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. As MVP Trojans, we remain Mission-Oriented, Vision-Guided, and People-Valued.

On 12 August 2026, Camaman-an National High School, Brgy. Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City, hosted the West Philippine Sea Advocacy and Campus Peace and Development Forum, headed by BGEN JOEL A. INACAY PAF, Wing Commander, 15th Strike Wing.

The advocacy provided students and stakeholders with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the West Philippine Sea, strengthen their sense of patriotism and national responsibility, and promote the values of peace, unity, and responsible citizenship.

The activity was conducted under the leadership of Cheryl M. Pontillas, School Principal, and highlighted the importance of empowering the youth to become informed, engaged, and responsible partners in building a peaceful and progressive nation.

WPS ADVOCACY OUTREACH: Lumbia National High School Engagement

As part of the monthly Civil-Military Operations activities of the 15th Strike Wing, its Commander, BGEN JOEL A INACAY PAF, led a West Philippine Sea awareness engagement with students of Lumbia High School.

The activity provided students with information on the Philippines’ maritime rights and entitlements under international law, including the 2016 Arbitral Award rendered by an Arbitral Tribunal constituted under Annex VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The discussion also encouraged responsible citizenship, critical thinking, and the careful evaluation of information concerning national security and maritime issues.

Through educational engagements such as this, the 15th Strike Wing contributes to broader efforts to promote informed public understanding of the West Philippine Sea.
