CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 2, 2026 - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region X, through the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), successfully commenced the 2026 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) Regional Assessment on June 2, 2026.
The two-day activity gathered members of the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (RIMTF) to review and verify the submitted assessment forms and Means of Verification (MOVs) of cities and municipalities across Northern Mindanao. The assessment aimed to ensure compliance with the indicators prescribed under DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-018, validate submitted data, address encoding and documentation issues, and promote a common understanding of the audit guidelines and processes.
During the activity, participants were provided updates on the policies, assessment criteria, timelines, and the utilization of the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Knowledge Management System (SCFLG-KMS). The Regional IMTF likewise conducted data validation and assessment of submissions covering the five child rights domains: Survival, Development, Protection, Participation, and Governance.
The CFLGA remains a vital mechanism in assessing the performance of local government units in promoting and protecting children's rights and welfare through effective policies, programs, projects, and services. LGUs that meet the required standards shall be conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) by the Council for the Welfare of Children.
