The ECCD Council, represented by Mr. Newelle Magas, ICT Unit Head and Mr. Karl Jeffrey Sabalza, Planning Officer III, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Juliette Uy on August 18, 2026.

This meaningful meeting reinforces the strong collaboration between the ECCD Council and the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental in strengthening early childhood care and development across the province.

Governor Uy reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to prioritize and further strengthen ECCD programs in Misamis Oriental — ensuring every child gets the best start in life, aligned with the goals of Republic Act No. 12199.

ECCD STRATEGIC PLANNING 2026

The Provincial ECCD Office, in partnership with the ECCD Council, concluded a successful 2-day ECCD Strategic Planning with a theme “Nurturing Every Childc, Empowering Every Community: ECCD Roadmapping 2030” on August 17–18, 2026, at Unity Hall, Provincial Capitol Compound, Cagayan de Oro City.

Facilitated by resource persons Mr. Newelle Magas, Head- ICT Unit and Mr. Karl Jeffrey Sabalza, Planning Officer III from the ECCD Council, the activity gathered City and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (C/MSWDOs) and ECCD Focal Persons representing all 25 local government units across Misamis Oriental.

The participants worked together to assess current service delivery, identify gaps, and align with the provisions of Republic Act No. 12199 (ECCD System Act of 2025). By the end of the activity, every LGU had produced its initial draft of a 3-Year ECCD Roadmap — a strategic guide to strengthen and expand early childhood care and development services in their respective communities.

Governor Juliette Uy conveyed her full support and encouragement to the participants through her Special Assistant, Mr. Celso “Popoy” Abucejo, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to nurturing every child and empowering every community.

Provincial ECCD officer Ms. Maryden T. Ocot expressed optimism that the roadmaps will serve as a strong foundation for cohesive, inclusive, and sustainable ECCD implementation across the province in the years ahead.

TRAINING INDUCTION PROGRAM - 2nd and 3rd Batch of CY 2026 ECCD Services NC III🎓📚👶

Fifty (50) Child Development Workers (CDWs) from Misamis Oriental – the second and third batch recipient scholars for the ECCD Services NC III Training Program for Calendar Year 2026 – attended the Trainee’s Induction Program on August 6, 2026 at the Cagayan de Oro School of Arts and Trades (COBSAT), Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City. 🏫📖

The induction program marked the official commencement of the training, which aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of CDWs in providing high-quality early childhood care and development services. 🌱👶📚 The program is a key initiative in supporting the implementation of Republic Act No. 12199, the ECCD System Act. ⚖️📜

Ms. Maryden T. Ocot represented by Ms. Jizybelle O. Hermosura delivered a message of support to the trainees, emphasizing the importance of their role in shaping the future of Misamis Oriental's children. 💬👩‍🏫🌟

Upon completion of the training, the participants will receive the ECCD Services NC III eligibility and will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional early learning experiences for young children. 🎓👶📘

PECCDO extends its gratitude to TESDA – Region X headed by Regional Director Rafael Abrogar and to TESDA Misamis Oriental Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Mariegold Cherie Garrido for choosing Misamis Oriental as one of the beneficiaries of this training program. 🤝💚

The Provincial ECCD Office conducted a coordinative meeting with Teacher Tanya Kay Gaid and Ms. April Lorraine Alegrado, Owner, CEO and Principal of Bright Light Learning Academy – Cagayan de Oro City last August 12, 2026.

This engagement marks another key step toward fostering stronger coordination and collaborative efforts in advancing inclusive education for every child across Misamis Oriental. By aligning our approaches, and sharing expertise, we move closer to ensuring that all children — regardless of their needs — receive quality, accessible early childhood care and development services under the ECCD framework.

PECCDO MISOR CONDUCTS TRAINING ON ITED PROGRAM & ECCD CHECKLIST ADMINISTRATION IN AGUSAN DEL SUR

The Provincial ECCD Office of Misamis Oriental through its Standards Division, successfully concluded a four-day training focused on the ITED Program and ECCD Checklist Administration held from August 4 to 7, 2026, in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The activity aimed to equip Child Development Workers with the necessary knowledge and skills in implementing the ITED Program and the proper administration of the ECCD Checklist — vital tools in assessing and monitoring the growth and development of children under their care.

The Provincial ECCD Office extends its profound gratitude to Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy for the opportunity to share the province’s expertise and best practices. Likewise, appreciation is conveyed to Agusan del Sur Governor Cane for his trust and confidence in the PECCDO to conduct the capacity-building activity for the province’s CDWs. The training highlights the commitment of both provinces to strengthen ECCD service delivery, ensuring quality care and development opportunities for every child.
