🥛Breastmilk Lettting Activity for GIDA-IP
📅 3 September 2026 | Brgy. Tuburan, Cagayan de Oro City

During the First 1000 Days Forum, a breasmilk drive was conducted at the same time to support, promote and protect breastfeeding.

A total of 600ml of breastmilk was collected through the generous donation of 13 lactating mothers who selflessly shared their milk to help nourish and support the growth and development of infants in need. 💙

The activity was assisted by JRBH HMB-LSC personnel Sanlyn Nacaytuna and Trishia Bangayan, facilitated by CNPCs and BNSs.

CAGAYAN DE ORO – The City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro has made another achievement in its commitment to combat Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) for 0-59 months old children following its successful accreditation by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Region 10 for the SAM Outpatient Therapeutic Care Benefit Package.

Prior to the accreditation, PIMAM Focal Ms. Angelique Jean Maggay, RND and team conducted its own Pre-Assessment where the team utilized the Self-Assessment/Survey Tool for the Outpatient Benefit Package for Severe Acute Malnutrition, which covers key areas such as PhilHealth accreditation of the health facility, mandatory ancillary services, human resources, laboratory, medicines, supplies, forms and records, and policies.

With the City Health Office already accredited for other PhilHealth services and serving as a YAKAP-accredited facility, CHO PhilHealth In-Charge Mr. Gerald Madjos facilitated the submission of the necessary documentary requirements through email on June 16, 2026.

After completing the application and assessment process, the City Health Office received the confirmation of its successful accreditation from PhilHealth Region 10 on August 17, 2026.

This achievement further strengthens the city's commitment to its campaign of “Zero SAM sa Oro,” which aims to ensure that children identified with severe acute malnutrition receive appropriate care, treatment, and rehabilitation.

All of this became possible with the support of Dr. Rachel D. Dilla, City Health Officer, Dr. Ameerah Sani- Racman, Assistant City Health Officer, and Caroline A. Cabunoc, RND, City Nutrition Action Officer.

The Cagayan de Oro has been committed to Zero SAM sa Oro and, we share this milestone to every Kagay-anon promising that no children will be left behind and all SAM children found will be rehabilitated.
