As part of its 122nd Founding Anniversary celebration under the theme βHusay at Dangal ng Lingkod-Bayan ng BIR,β the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) formally launched βAng Ating Sandigan,β its official hymn, during the Anniversary Program on July 31, 2026, at the BIR National Office.
βWe chose to offer this hymn as our anniversary gift to the Bureau because music speaks to the heart in a way that words alone cannot. My hope is that every time we sing it, it will inspire us to give our best in our work and remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselvesβcalled to serve our fellow Filipinos and to share in the noble work of helping build our nation,β Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said.
The hymn was selected through the BIR Hymn Contest, launched earlier this year to find an original composition reflecting the Bureauβs mandate, core values, organizational culture, and role in nation-building.
The winning entry, βAng Ating Sandigan,β was composed by Kent P. Victoria of the Large Taxpayers Service. During the Anniversary Program, the Large Taxpayers Service was recognized for the winning entry, the BIR Chorale performed the hymn live for the first time, and the official music video was launched.
The official BIR hymn is now played during the Bureauβs regular Monday flag ceremony, serving as a shared expression of the institutionβs mandate, values, and commitment to public service.
