On May 19, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X), led by Officer-in-Charge and Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Mohammad Hussien Lucman joined the Department of Migrant Workers - Region 10 (DMW-X) in the β€œBayanihan Para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: A National Reintegration Network (NRN) and Job Fair” at the City Tourism Hall, Cagayan De Oro City.

The event features a One-Stop Shop of government agencies to provide assistance and services to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), jobseekers and members of the public interested in employment opportunities.

The one-day fair seeks to enhance reintegration efforts for balikbayang manggagawa by providing accessible employment opportunities, livelihood assistance programs, and essential government services in one venue.

The NCMF-X, in fulfillment of its duties to the National Reintegration Network Memorandum of Agreement with DMW-X, through the Legal Affairs Division, spearheaded by Chief Atty. Shayma Abdullah, together with Atty. Raisa Macabando, SCL, Atty. Nairah D. Alonto, Chief Alic Mohamad, J.D, Atty. Ellyssahanna U. Espinosa and Mohammad Shuaib H. Batara, SCL, provided on-site legal assistance and support services for Muslim OFWs and clients throughout the event.

They were supported by staff from other divisions, including Walid Baute, Alinasser Masorong, and Nuroddin Alinog, with intern Habiba Anwar.

On May 24, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X), under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong Jr., CESO III, successfully conducted a community outreach activity in the Municipality of Pantar, Lanao del Norte. The initiative highlighted the importance of partnership, volunteerism, and collaboration among government agencies, civic groups, and local stakeholders in serving the community.

As part of the activity, a Free Haircut Service was provided to residents through the collective efforts of Grupo Kaaliman and its volunteer partners, including personnel from the 11th Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police headed by PCpt Brent G. Palangew, and members of the Philippine Army led by Sgt. Dane Lorenzo I. Arongat (QMS), PA. Their voluntary service reflected a shared commitment to community care and public service.

Approximately 30 beneficiaries from the municipality availed of the free haircut services. This was conducted simultaneously with the Oplan Kapang-Islam (free circumcision) done by the Settlement Division led by Acting Chief Mohammad G. Naga and the Medical Section under Dr. Anharry Dianalan. Beyond providing personal grooming assistance, the activity created a positive and welcoming environment that strengthened the connection between the community, government institutions, and volunteer organizations.

The successful conduct of the outreach activity demonstrated how collaboration and unity among agencies and organizations can help deliver responsive, people-centered services to communities. It also reinforced the commitment of NCMF Northern Mindanao and its partners to continue promoting social welfare, volunteerism, and stronger community engagement across the region.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X) took part in the Welcome Breakfast for the Opening of the 2026 Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations (SSBE) held on May 24, 2026 at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Campus.

Representing Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong Jr., CESO III were Officer-in-Charge Atty. Mohammad Hussien B. Lucman, Chief Administrative and Finance Officer of NCMF-X, and Husni B. Sarip, Head of NCMF Lanao del Norte Field Office.

The gathering brought together members of the Judiciary, distinguished Muslim judges and justices, officials of the Philippine Muslim Judges Association (PMJA), respected academicians from MSU-IIT, and leaders from various institutions in support of the examinees taking this year’s SSBE.

Leading the program were 2026 SSBE Chairperson Supreme Court Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting, SSBE Consultant Associate Justice Japar Dimaampao, and Associate Justice Jose Midas P. Marquez, who will serve as Chairperson for the 2027 SSBE.

One of the highlights of the event was the message of Associate Justice Japar Dimaampao, who emphasized that the Shari’ah Bar Examination should no longer be viewed as merely a special or secondary examination. He shared that the Supreme Court’s extensive preparations reflect its strong commitment to strengthening, modernizing, and expanding Shari’ah law and Shari’ah courts in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting encouraged the examinees to face the examinations with sincerity, faith, and integrity. He also reminded them to continue learning and to practice Shari’ah with compassion and humanity at its core.

The program was livestreamed simultaneously across the four official testing venues nationwide: MSU-IIT in Iligan City, Ateneo de Zamboanga University in Zamboanga City, Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City, and New Era University in Quezon City.

A total of 800 examinees participated in the 2026 SSBE, with 45 taking the examinations in Arabic and 755 taking the English examinations.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X) held its Culminating Activity for On-the-Job Trainees (OJTs) on May 21, 2026, in Opol, Misamis Oriental, marking the completion of the trainees’ internship with the office.

The program recognized eleven (11) trainees from Mindanao State University – Marawi Campus, two (2) from Xavier-Ateneo University (XU), and one (1) from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP). Throughout their internship, the trainees were assigned to different divisions where they gained hands-on experience in office work, documentation, communication, and public service.

The activity opened with an inspirational message from Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong Jr., CESO III, represented by Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Mohammad Hussien Lucman, who recognized the dedication and commitment shown by the trainees during their internship. This was followed by messages from Cultural Affairs Division Chief Asleah F. Dimaporo, Settlement Division Acting Chief Mohammad G. Naga, and Personnel Officer Allenia Sultan, who shared their appreciation for the trainees’ dedication and contributions during their stay in the office.

A meaningful part of the program was the sharing of reflections from the trainees themselves. They expressed gratitude to NCMF Region X for the opportunity to learn, grow professionally, and build lasting connections during their immersion.

Certificates of Completion were awarded to all trainees in recognition of their commitment and satisfactory performance throughout the program.

In his closing message, OIC and CADOF Atty. Mohammad Hussien Lucman encouraged the trainees to continue striving for excellence and to carry with them the values of professionalism, dedication, and sincere service.

The activity ended with fellowship and camaraderie, reflecting NCMF-X’s continued support for meaningful student immersion and partnership with academic institutions.

On May 15, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X), under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong, Jr., CESO III, through the Cultural Affairs Division headed by Chief Asleah Dimaporo, concluded the third and final day of the Masjid and Madrasah Mapping Activity in Iligan City.

On May 24, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos - Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X), under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong, Jr., CESO III, successfully conducted the Medical Mission: Oplan Kapang-Islam (Tuli) for Muslim children in the Municipality of Pantar, Lanao del Norte. The activity was spearheaded through the Settlement Division led by Acting Chief Mohammad G. Naga, the Medical Section under Dr. Anharry A. Dianalan, and the Lanao del Norte Field Office headed by Field Office Head Husni B. Sarip.

The medical mission aimed to provide free and safe circumcision services to Muslim children while promoting health awareness, community solidarity, and accessible healthcare assistance for underserved communities. A total of 155 Muslim children from different barangays in Pantar benefited from the activity.

The success of the mission was made possible through the strong partnership and support of the Local Government Unit of Pantar under the leadership of Hon. Abdul Basher D. Tago, Municipal Mayor of Pantar, Lanao del Norte, through its Rural Health Unit (RHU) headed by Dr. Fatma M. Abdul Jalil. The RHU provided medical assistance and ensured that proper health and sanitation protocols were strictly observed throughout the activity.

Volunteer groups and healthcare workers also played a vital role in the smooth and orderly conduct of the mission. Grupo Kaaliman, headed by Joseph Bernard A. Gapasin, RN, MAN, together with volunteer nurses Jilani Macud, Rainidah Azis, and Site Asia Acop, generously shared their time, skills, and dedication in serving the beneficiaries. Their compassionate service greatly helped ease the experience of the children and their families. The Salaam Police Advocacy Group (SPAG) likewise extended valuable support during the activity.

Aside from the free circumcision procedures, beneficiaries also received free medicines and medical supplies for wound cleaning and healing to support proper post-operation care and faster recovery. This initiative reflected the organizers’ commitment not only to the successful conduct of the procedure itself, but also to the overall health and well-being of the children after the operation.

Beyond providing medical services, the activity also strengthened cooperation among government agencies, local stakeholders, advocacy groups, volunteer organizations, and healthcare professionals in advancing community welfare and public service. Parents and beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the free medical assistance, medicines, and the kindness shown by all personnel and volunteers involved in the mission.

On May 22, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Northern Mindanao (NCMF-X) under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Abdulnasser P. Masorong, Jr., CESO III successfully conducted a Relief Assistance Distribution for the fire victims in Brgy. Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity aimed to provide immediate relief and assistance to families affected by the unfortunate fire incident that resulted in the displacement of residents and damage to their homes and belongings. Through this initiative, the Office sought to help ease the burden of the affected families and demonstrate compassion, solidarity, and government responsiveness during times of crisis.

The relief distribution was conducted in coordination with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Brgy. Lapasan under the leadership of Punong Barangay Hon. Julito D. Ogsimer, through the assistance of the Barangay Muslim Affairs Coordinator, Mr. Janal Hamdag. Their support and cooperation greatly contributed to the orderly identification and facilitation of the beneficiaries during the conduct of the activity.

A total of eighty (80) family beneficiaries received relief assistance consisting of five (5) kilograms of rice per family. The distribution process was carried out smoothly and systematically with the assistance of barangay officials, volunteers, and NCMF personnel to ensure that all identified beneficiaries received the intended assistance.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the NCMF Northern Mindanao and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Lapasan.

The distribution was led by Acting Settlement Division Chief Mohammad G. Naga together with Waida G. Diamel, Mahmod Masorong, Nuroddin Alinog, Alinasser Masorong, and Abdulmodjib Alingan.

The successful implementation of the relief assistance distribution reflects the commitment of the NCMF-X to humanitarian service, community outreach, and disaster response initiatives, particularly for vulnerable and affected communities in Northern Mindanao.

During the field visits, several Madrasah administrators and community representatives shared common concerns regarding educational resources and facility limitations.

Despite challenges in accessing some remote areas, the team successfully conducted the field validation and documentation activities.

Through teamwork and coordination, the second day of the Masjid and Madrasah Mapping Activity was successfully completed, contributing to the establishment of updated records of Muslim institutions in Iligan City.
