Mendoza said breastfeeding should be supported long after a mother and child begin the practice, with help from families and friends, breastfeeding-friendly workplaces, and communities that recognize its benefits.

💬 | During the "Hakab Ta!" Breastfeeding Month Celebration on August 11, Northern Mindanao Medical Center Chief Dr. Alvin Quiñon emphasized that breastfeeding is a responsibility shared by the mother, the family, and the greater community.

By fostering enabling environments, Quiñon said, mothers are highly likely to succeed in breastfeeding and provide their baby the needed nutrition and care in its first 1,000 days of life.

The activity gathers mothers and infants, healthcare professionals, families, and community partners in an effort to promote breastfeeding, support infant health, and create a supporting and enabling environment for breastfeeding mothers.
