𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 ₱𝟏𝟎𝟒𝐊 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲

Bislig City, SDS – DICT-Caraga's Surigao del Sur Provincial Office hosted the SPARK Graduation Ceremony: General Virtual Assistance 2.0 on May 20, 2026, at the Digital Transformation Center in Bislig City, honoring twenty-eight (28) SPARK scholars who completed intensive training in digital skills and freelancing.

Implemented in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bislig City, the program developed scholars' skills in virtual assistance, AI applications, social media management, communication, and online freelancing. Of the Twenty-Eight (28) scholars, Twenty-Five (25) were deemed competent. Six (6) scholars secured online jobs during the campaign, generating verified earnings totaling more than One Hundred Three Thousand Pesos (₱104,298.69).

Mayor Florencio C. Garay’s message, delivered by Assistant City Administrator Jerson Coma, celebrated local government support for digital literacy and freelancing in Bislig. Vice Mayor Conrad C. Cejoco stressed the need to equip locals with digital skills for livelihoods and economic growth, while DICT-Caraga Director Mario P. Cuñado reaffirmed the commitment to nurturing the region’s digital workforce.

“Dako jud akong pasalamat sa DICT kay this training didn’t just give me knowledge, it also gave me confidence. Na-discover nako akong skills and passion sa graphic designing, video editing, ug social media management, ug karon mas motivated nako nga magpadayon sa freelancing,” SPARK scholar Russel Aloz shared during his testimonial message.

The SPARK Graduation Ceremony strengthened collaboration among DICT-Caraga, LGU Bislig City, partner organizations, and local freelancing communities, inspiring sustainable digital workforce initiatives for Surigao del Sur's future.

Cuñado, kauban ang division chief ug mga provincial officers sa ahensya, para ipahibalo sa publiko ang mga program ug inisyatibo sa DICT, ug mga kalampusan diri sa rehiyon Caraga hilabi na sa pagpasiguro nga ang mga Caraganon konektado, luwas ug gamhanan sa Bagong Pilipinas.

BUTUAN CITY — The DICT Caraga officially launched the National ICT Month celebration with the formal dedication of its newly established Digital Transformation Center (DTC). Coinciding with the agency's milestone 10th-year anniversary, this year's month-long celebration is anchored on the national theme, "Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo," reflecting a decade of expanding digital public service across the country.

The newly dedicated Digital Transformation Center is designed as a specialized tech hub aimed at driving grassroots innovation and digital inclusion in the Caraga Region. The state-of-the-art facility will safely open its doors to the public, providing local communities, students, and professionals with an open space to attend comprehensive ICT skills trainings, utilize high-speed internet connectivity, and access dedicated co-working areas.

The building dedication ceremony was preceded by a regional motorcade organized to parade and showcase the department’s primary disaster resilience and emergency assets. The mobile parade highlighted DICT’s Mobile Operations Vehicle for Emergency (MOVE) dispatch fleet and the Government Emergency Communications System (GECS) hub, demonstrating the agency's operational readiness to establish and maintain vital communication lifelines during critical incidents and disaster deployments across the region.
