Quality Seeds Today, Abundant Harvest Tomorrow!

To boost local farm yields and build a more food-secure future, NIA Caraga successfully wrapped up an intensive 5-day training on In**ed Rice Seed Production and Certification (May 25–29, 2026) at Butuan City!

This program empowered Irrigators’ Association (IA) members and implementers from Regions X, XI, XII, and CARAGA with the vital skills needed to support the Double Dry Cropping Scheme.

By mastering high-quality seed production and strict certification standards, our farmers are lowering their dependence on external seed sources, securing a timely supply for irrigated areas, and actively driving sustainable agriculture.

A huge thank you to our expert resource speakers from DA PhilRice and the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), as well as central and regional leadership from NIA for making this collaborative powerhouse a success.

The event featured key technical sessions led by experts from DA PhilRice Nueva Ecija and BPI, with pivotal organizational support from Ms. Maricel M. Del Rosario (NIA Central Office) and Ms. Avelina Jalop (NIA Caraga Region).

SOLAR-POWERED IRRIGATION TRANSFORMS FARMING IN BRGY. GUADALUPE ESPERANZA AGUSAN DEL SUR

GUADALUPE SOLAR PUMP IRRIGATION PROJECT, implemented by the National Irrigation Administration, is transforming the lives of local farmers by providing a dependable and environment-friendly irrigation system. For years, farmers struggled with unpredictable rainfall and high fuel costs, resulting in unstable harvests and limited productivity.
Today, through the project’s uninterrupted solar-powered water supply, farmers are now able to plan their cropping activities more efficiently and improve overall farm output.
Association members expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a major step toward sustainable agriculture and better economic opportunities for farming families.

MULA SA BUKIRIN TUNGO SA MAS MAUNLAD NA KINABUKASAN—DALAWANG ARAW NG PAGKATUTO, PAGTUTULUNGAN, AT INOBASYON ANG NAMUNGA SA PUSO NG SIARGAONON.

Noong Abril 29–30, 2026, nagtipon ang mga Pangulo at miyembro ng iba’t ibang Irrigators’ Association (IA) mula sa mga isla ng Siargao sa San Roque Ayog IA Hall, Brgy. San Roque, Pilar, Surigao del Norte para sa isang makabuluhan at makabagong pagsasanay. Pinag-isa ng gawaing ito ang kabuhayan, climate-smart agriculture, at digital na teknolohiya—lahat ay nakatuon sa pagpapalakas ng komunidad ng mga magsasaka.

Sa pamamagitan ng Ready-to-Lay (RTL) Livelihood Orientation, nabigyan ng panibagong oportunidad ang mga kalahok sa larangan ng poultry egg production bilang dagdag kita at masustansyang pagkain para sa pamilya. Kasabay nito, tinalakay ang Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), isang makabagong paraan ng pagtitipid ng tubig sa palayan na itinataguyod ng International Rice Research Institute, na nakatutulong din sa pagbawas ng greenhouse gas emissions.

Binigyang-diin din ang kahalagahan ng makabagong teknolohiya sa pamamagitan ng KoboCollect, isang digital tool para sa real-time monitoring ng canal clearing activities—na nagpapataas ng transparency, efficiency, at maayos na pamamahala ng irigasyon.

Sa pangunguna ng resource speaker na si Engr. Michael John M. Asis mula sa NIA Caraga, at sa suporta ng NIA SDN Satellite Institutional and Operations staff sa pamumuno ni Engr. Danilo G. Yamis, naging matagumpay ang pagsasanay na ito.

Sama-sama, ang mga hakbang na ito ay naglalatag ng daan tungo sa mas matatag, maunlad, at handang-harapin ang hinaharap na komunidad ng mga magsasaka.
