Please be informed that the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department (CTCAD) has officially transferred to its new office location.

J.P. Rosales Avenue, Doongan, Butuan City (Old Office of the City Public Information Division)

Effective immediately, all transactions, inquiries, and tourism and cultural affairs-related services will be accommodated at the new office.

We encourage all clients, stakeholders, and visitors to take note of this updated address for future transactions and concerns.

For secondary tourism enterprises (e.g., Tourism Recreation Center, Restaurants), renewal of applications may be submitted starting two (2) months before accreditation expiry.

Today, May 28, 2026, we proudly begin the observance of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 — a celebration of the courage, sacrifice, and freedom that shaped our nation.

As stated in 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟒 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟖𝟒𝟗𝟏, “The flag of the Philippines shall be blue, white and red with an eight-rayed golden-yellow sun and three five-pointed stars, as consecrated and honored by the people.” 🇵🇭

More than a festival, Balangay Festival 2026 became a powerful reminder of who we are as Butuanons.

In every challenge faced, the Balangayan spirit remained unshaken. We were resilient, united, and always moving forward together. From culture and heritage to sports, service, music, and community, every moment reflected the strength of a people bound by pride and shared purpose.

As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Balangay Excavation, we honor not only our rich history, but the enduring spirit passed on by our ancestors, a spirit that continues to guide Butuan through every wave and every season.

This year may have been simpler, but the heart of the celebration was stronger than ever.

As the Balik Butuan Balangayan Airport Reception concludes on its final day, the City of Butuan extends its heartfelt gratitude to all travelers, guests, balikbayans, performers, and partners who became part of this meaningful cultural welcome experience.

For 15 days, Butuan Airport became a gateway of culture, smiles, music, movement, and genuine hospitality — proudly sharing the vibrant spirit and heritage of Butuan City to every arriving passenger.

This initiative, organized by the City Government of Butuan through the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department (CTCAD), is part of the celebration of the 40th Balangay Festival and the 50th Anniversary of the First Balangay Excavation.
