Day 2 was another exciting and meaningful day at the Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) 2026, SMX Convention Center, Pasay City!

We proudly continued showcasing the rich heritage, culture, nature, and tourism experiences of Butuan City and the Caraga Region, while connecting with travelers, tourism partners, and fellow stakeholders from across the country.

We also had the opportunity to visit other participating booths, exchange ideas, discover new tourism promotions and practices, and collect promotional collaterals that can serve as references and inspiration for our own tourism initiatives.

𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆, 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀, 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲!

Mr. Glenn A. Parcia and Mr. Albert M. Puno from the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, representing Butuan City, joined the opening of the 37th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) 2026 on August 4, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

During the event, Mr. Parcia and Mr. Puno proudly shared the history of Butuan through quick talks with walk-in guests and showcased its diverse tourism products and offerings by providing brochures and QR cards packed with information about Butuan. Guests also enjoyed trivia games about Butuan, with exciting prizes and souvenirs given to those who answered correctly.

In the afternoon, Butuan City got a chance to share, through a presentation, what the city has to offer, including the ancient Balangay (Butuan Boat), the Agusan River and its river cruises, the natural beauty of the majestic Mt. Mayapay, and heritage sites such as Būd Eco Park and the Banza Church Ruins.

The presentation also shared local flavors, featuring beloved Butuan delicacies such as Buntā, Palagsing, Pao with Latik, and many more. Local products such as Laksoy and beaded accessories were also highlighted during the per-region presentation.

We would like to invite everyone to visit the Caraga Booth F06 until September 6, 2026, to discover more about Butuan City and the wonders of Caraga.

From 24 film submissions, 15 promising filmmakers have made it to the Semi-Finals of the SineBalangay Independent Film Festival 2027!

These talented storytellers and their film concepts will move on to the SineBalangay Film Lab – Story Incubation Program, where they’ll sharpen their ideas through intensive workshops and one-on-one mentoring with experienced industry professionals.

From the 15 Semi-Finalists, 10 Finalists will be selected by the Mentors and Selection Committee. Each finalist will receive a ₱20,000 Production Assistance Grant and the opportunity to have their film premiere in the Festival’s Main Competition Section on February 25–27, 2027.

Here’s to the storytellers who continue to shape and strengthen Butuan’s creative spirit, bringing new voices, stories, and visions to the screen as we move toward a true City of People’s Cinema. 🎥
