'MAAS PASALAMAT NUY'

(We, the members of the Napanpanan Madasigon Sustainable Livelihood Program Association, are very grateful to the DSWD through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) for giving us the opportunity to avail of livelihood assistance. We come from one of the farthest sitios of Barangay Rajah Cabungsoan in Lingig and belong to the Manobo Indigenous Peoples (IP) tribe.)’’
This was the heartfelt message of Jem Yahot, Treasurer of the Napanpanan Madasigon Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA), following their participation in the Organizational Development and Leadership Training (ODLT) and Micro-Enterprise Development Training (MDT) conducted by the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.
The training, as part of the Social Preparation Stage of the program, aimed to strengthen the participants’ organizational capacity, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial knowledge to help them establish and manage sustainable livelihood projects within their community. Throughout the sessions, participants assessed their available resources, identified market opportunities, and explored potential enterprises that could address the needs and economic realities of their locality.
Through collaborative discussions and careful analysis, Chicken Egg Production emerged as the most viable livelihood project for the association. The enterprise was identified as a practical and sustainable venture due to its strong market demand, manageable production requirements, and promising income-generating potential.
The Napanpanan Madasigon SLPA is composed of 30 participants, the majority of whom belong to Manobo families residing in one of the remotest sitios of Barangay Rajah Cabungsoan, Lingig, Surigao del Sur. For many of the members, the opportunity to access livelihood assistance represents more than economic support.
