𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙨, 𝙣𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚.

Earlier Today | The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a deployment briefing for selected members of its Quick Response Team (QRT) in preparation for their augmentation to the ongoing disaster response operations in Region XII, following the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that caused significant damage and disruption across affected communities.

Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga led the briefing calling on each team member to carry out their mission with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and compassion. Every family they will encounter has a story. Every life they will serve matters.

The deployment briefing was conducted to ensure that all QRT members are fully oriented on their roles, responsibilities, and the scope of their mission, equipping them with the necessary guidance and reminders before heading to the field.

The QRT will work alongside DSWD Field Office XII in delivering timely and meaningful assistance to affected individuals and families because in times of crisis, no region stands alone.

June 09, 2026 | The Regional Disaster Response Committee (RDRC), chaired by DSWD Field Office Caraga, successfully convened its 2nd Quarter meeting via virtual platform to discuss key agenda items, including the upcoming National Disaster Resilience Month celebration, approval of two resolutions and other pressing matters on disaster preparedness and response for the Caraga region.

DC Aldie Mae A. Andoy reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to strengthening inter-agency coordination and ensuring community-centered disaster resilience efforts for Caraganons.

EARLIER TODAY | The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a deployment briefing for the selected members of the Quick Response Team (QRT) who will be deployed to Region XII as augmentation support for the ongoing disaster response operations.

The deployed QRT members will assist DSWD Field Office XII in delivering timely and responsive interventions to communities affected by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake, which caused significant damage and disruption in the affected areas.

Field Office Caraga Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga led the briefing and reminded the team to uphold professionalism at all times and remain mindful and respectful of the culture, traditions, and lived experiences of the communities they will serve. She emphasized the importance of delivering assistance with sensitivity, empathy, and respect while ensuring that affected individuals and families are treated with dignity throughout the response operations.

Through this initiative, DSWD Field Office Caraga reaffirms its commitment to extending immediate and meaningful support to communities in times of crisis.

World Environment Day 2026 | DRMD at Mt. Mayapay⛰️

In celebration of World Environment Day, the Disaster Response Management Division, led by DC Andoy, took to the trails of the majestic Mt. Mayapay, a fitting tribute to the natural environment we are deeply committed to protecting.

Despite the uphill challenge, the team persevered and successfully reached the peak, where they were rewarded with breathtaking views that made every step of the journey worth it.

Our work in disaster response is deeply intertwined with environmental stewardship. Protecting nature is protecting communities.

As we mark this occasion, DRMD reaffirms its dedication to a safer, more resilient, and environmentally conscious approach to disaster risk management for our communities, and for generations to come. 🌏🌿

This June, the Disaster Response Management Division led by DC Andoy proudly celebrates Pride Month a time to honor love, diversity, and the strength found in every individual. In disaster response and in life, inclusion saves lives. Everyone belongs.

And speaking of people who make everything brighter a very special shoutout to our beloved Ma’am Mitzi Rica Palima, former Capacity Building Program Focal Person of DRMD, for visiting us today and bringing the most heartwarming surprise that filled our stomach.

IN HINATUAN, SURIGAO DEL SUR: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinatuan, successfully turned over several Project LAWA at BINHI initiatives to partner beneficiaries in Barangays Tiwi and San Juan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Among the projects turned over were Community Vegetable Gardening, Construction of Small Farm Reservoirs with Tilapia Farming, Planting of Fruit Trees, Corn Production, Ginger Farming, and Diversification of Water Supply Systems.

These initiatives aim to address food and water insecurity in disaster-vulnerable communities, in line with the objectives of Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished), which promotes sustainable livelihoods, enhances water accessibility, and strengthens community resilience against the impacts of climate-related hazards.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 | In line with the Division’s commitment to strengthening coordination, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the timely implementation of programs and activities, the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD), led by DC Andoy, convened its June 𝙋𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙚 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 Meeting with Section Heads and selected Technical Staff.

The meeting served as an important platform for discussing key updates, monitoring ongoing initiatives, and addressing operational concerns. Among the major agenda items discussed were Management Committee (ManCom) updates and feedback, the status of fund utilization commitments under Project LAWA at BINHI and RROS, the implementation of the Food for Work thru the utilization of SOTEX System, and the presentation of Means of Verification (MOVs) for CCAD Caraga.

The session also provided an opportunity for the different sections to raise concerns, share progress reports, and identify challenges requiring immediate action and coordination. Through productive discussions, participants were able to clarify issues, align priorities, and formulate necessary interventions to support the Division’s objectives.

To conclude the meeting, DC Andoy emphasized the importance of accountability, collaboration, and timely delivery of outputs. She directed all concerned personnel to prepare and submit the necessary documents, maintain close coordination with relevant stakeholders, and provide regular updates on their respective commitments and accomplishments in the coming days.

Guided by the principles of ASENSO, the Division remains committed to strengthening organizational performance, fostering excellence in public service, and ensuring the effective implementation of programs and services for the communities it serves.

LOOK 👀| May 28–29, 2026 🌱💧

A successful Turnover Ceremony for Project LAWA at BINHI was conducted in Barangay Mandus on May 28, 2026, and Barangay Bogak on May 29, 2026, marking the formal turnover of completed community projects to a total of 310 partner-beneficiaries.

The activity was led by the Municipal Mayor of Lingig, Hon. Elmer Evangelio, together with the DSWD Representative, Regional MER Focal Person, Ms. Rutchel Molino and PLGU Focal Person of Surigao del Sur, Mr. Tonton Macapala. Also present were representatives from the PPDO, PFARO, and OPAg of Surigao del Sur, as well as the Municipal and Barangay Officials, MSWDO, MENRO, and MAO of the Municipality of Lingig.

The ceremony signifies the continued commitment of the partner-beneficiaries, local government units, and implementing agencies in ensuring the sustainability, proper maintenance, and further development of the completed community projects under the program.

Implemented initiatives include corn and vegetable production, concoction and organic fertilizer production, establishment of nurseries, construction of Small Farm Reservoirs and concrete water tanks, diversification of water supply systems, fruit tree planting, and tilapia farming.

More than the turnover of projects, the activity symbolizes strengthened community ownership, collaboration, and shared responsibility in sustaining initiatives that promote accessible water resources, sustainable food production, and resilient livelihoods for the community.

May 28, 2026, partner beneficiaries of Brgy. Mandus, Lingig, Surigao del Sur gathered together with enthusiasm and determination as they crafted their very own Community Action Plan under Stage 3 of Project LAWA at BINHI!

The Provincial Technical Working Group and staff from DSWD Field Office Caraga joined the workshop, providing valuable guidance and technical inputs that enriched every planning session.

This workshop proves that when community, local government, and technical experts unite, great things happen. Our partner beneficiaries are not just participants, they are the planners, dreamers, and drivers of change.

With their Community Action Plan now taking shape and the full support of the Provincial Technical Working Group, LGU Lingig, and DSWD Caraga behind them, Barangay Mandus is ready to turn vision into action and action into lasting impact.
