PNP RECOVERS NEARLY ₱11-M IN SUSPECTED SMUGGLED CI******ES ACROSS THREE OPERATIONS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recovered more than ₱10.9 million worth of suspected smuggled ci******es in three separate operations in Northern Mindanao, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula, reflecting the PNP's continuing campaign against illicit trade.

In Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, police arrested a legal-age Filipino suspect after intercepting a wing van carrying 190 master cases, or approximately 9,500 reams, of suspected smuggled ci******es with an estimated value of ₱7.6 million. The vehicle and its cargo were placed under police custody pending turnover to the appropriate government agency.

In Marantao, Lanao del Sur, police recovered 2,550 reams of suspected smuggled ci******es worth about ₱2.18 million after several individuals reportedly abandoned the contraband along a roadside upon learning of an anti-criminality checkpoint. The recovered items were secured while follow-up investigation is underway to identify those involved.

Meanwhile, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, responding police recovered 20 master cases of suspected smuggled ci******es valued at approximately ₱1.14 million after a concerned citizen reported several abandoned boxes in the area. Authorities are coordinating with the concerned agencies for the proper disposition of the recovered items and the continuation of the investigation.

The operations support the PNP's Focused Agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen efforts against illegal trade, safeguard government revenues, and uphold the rule of law.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded the operating units for their vigilance and swift action.

"Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating kampanya laban sa smuggling at iba pang iligal na gawain. Hindi lang ito tungkol sa pagkumpiska ng kontrabando—tungkulin din nating protektahan ang ekonomiya, suportahan ang mga lehitimong negosyo, at tiyaking may pananagutan ang mga lumalabag sa batas. We will remain steadfast in carrying out this mandate through coordinated and intelligence-driven operations," said PGen Nartatez.

PNP NABS GUN-RUNNING SUSPECT LINKED TO ROBBERY WITH HOMICIDE CASE IN ILOILO

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a 35-year-old jobless male, known by the alias "Pablo," during an entrapment operation against the illegal sale of fi****ms in Oton, Iloilo on the morning of June 28, 2026.

Operatives conducted the operation after the suspect allegedly sold a caliber .38 revolver to an undercover police officer. Authorities also recovered additional live ammunition, suspected explosive material, cash, and other items from his possession.

Police said the arrested individual is also being investigated as the suspect in a robbery with homicide incident that occurred in Iloilo City on May 24, 2026. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence and ensure that all legal processes are properly observed.

The accomplishment reflects the continuing efforts of the PNP to prevent the proliferation of loose fi****ms and strengthen crime prevention under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations. It also supports the peace and public safety priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating personnel, saying that every illegal firearm taken off the streets helps make communities safer and prevents more crimes from happening.

JOINT PNP-PDEA OPERATION HALTS P13.6-M SHABU SHIPMENT IN MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE

A joint operation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led to the arrest of a 42-year-old male driver and the confiscation of around two kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated national standard value of P13.6 million during a buy-bust operation in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte on the morning of June 28.

The operation was conducted at a checkpoint in Barangay Sarmiento by combined PDEA and PNP operating units following intelligence and case build-up. Authorities recovered two Chinese tea bags marked "888" containing approximately two kilograms of suspected shabu, which served as the subject of the sale. They also seized a Suzuki Ertiga believed to have been used during the transaction, a mobile phone, identification cards, a wallet, and the buy-bust money consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill.

The suspect and all recovered evidence were subsequently turned over to PDEA for investigation and the filing of the appropriate charges.

The successful operation underscores the sustained collaboration between the PNP and PDEA in disrupting the movement of illegal drugs across the country. It also reflects the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens intelligence-driven and coordinated law enforcement efforts in support of the directive of President Ferdinand R. PNP CITES ORDERLY AND PEACEFUL CONDUCT OF FAITH-BASED RALLIES ACROSS NCR

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the peaceful and orderly conduct of the monitored faith-based White Ribbon Movement rallies held in parts of the National Capital Region on Saturday, June 28.

Based on reports submitted to the PNP National Headquarters, a total of five (5) faith-based rally activities were monitored across Metro Manila, with an estimated combined attendance of 4,880 participants. The gatherings included one activity in the Eastern Police District with around 1,000 participants, one in the Southern Police District with about 50 participants, and three in the Quezon City Police District with an estimated 3,830 participants.

The PNP maintained police presence in the affected areas to ensure public safety, manage traffic, and facilitate the peaceful exercise of the participants' right to assemble while minimizing disruption to the public.

The security measures were carried out in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes rights-based policing, public safety, and orderly law enforcement. Consistent with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to uphold peace, public order, and the rule of law, the PNP continued to perform its mandate with professionalism and impartiality throughout the day's activities.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the personnel deployed on the ground for carrying out their duties with discipline and restraint.
