π± AgriBOOST DayCareE: Planting Seeds of Good Nutrition and a Healthier Future! π±
The City Government of Butuan, through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Department (CAVD), initiated the AgriBOOST DayCare Program in support of the administration of City Mayor Atty. Lawrence Lemuel H. Fortun toward strengthening food security, promoting proper nutrition, and building healthier communities in Butuan City.
As part of the program, CAVD conducted the AgriBOOST DayCARE Orientation and Hands-on Workshop at Barangay Diego Silang, Butuan City, on August 14, 2026, under the leadership of City Agriculturist Engr. Pierre Anthony D. Joven.
The activity engaged daycare learners, parents, and teachers in learning about the importance of urban gardening, vegetable production, proper nutrition, and food self-sufficiency. Through fun and child-friendly activities, the young learners were introduced to the basics of gardeningβfrom recognizing seeds and seedlings to planting, watering, and caring for vegetables. π₯¬π±π§
More than simply teaching children how to grow vegetables, AgriBOOST DayCare aims to nurture an early appreciation for agriculture, healthy food, and environmental responsibility. It also encourages parents, teachers, and communities to establish productive gardens that can provide fresh, nutritious, and accessible vegetables at home and in daycare centers.
Through the collective efforts of the City Government, barangay, parents, teachers, and young learners, AgriBOOST DayCare is planting seeds today for a healthier, greener, and more food-secure Butuan tomorrow. ππ±
