In a collaborative effort with the DOLE Surigao del Norte Field Office, the RTWPB Caragaโ€”led by Board Secretary VI, Mr. Earl D. Dela Victoria and Supervising LEO, Mr. Cornelius B. Mahinayโ€”successfully conducted an advocacy seminar for the workforce of Hinatuan Mining Corporation today, May 28, 2026, at Brgy. Talavera, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte.

Held in celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the activity highlighted the critical social and psychological protections of the workers, including mental health. It is also a campaign against child labor and the promotion of workplace productivity.

Underscoring a holistic approach to total worker well-being, Mr. Dela Victoria spearheaded the discussion on Productivity 101 (Productivity Enhancement), the current wage adjustments, and the RTWPBโ€™s other productivity programs aimed at fostering workplace efficiency.

This joint initiative underscores how DOLE and RTWPB work hand-in-hand to integrate occupational safety, mental health support, child labor advocacy, and workplace productivityโ€”ensuring a safer, healthier, and more productive Caraganon workforce.

In partnership with the DOLE Provincial Offices of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao del Norte, RTWPB Caraga simultaneously participated in the capability development activities for Workers in the Informal Sector (WIS) across the region today.

In line with the celebration of the 124th Labor Day under the theme, โ€œDisenteng Trabaho para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-Samang Mararating,โ€ these activities aim to recognize the valuable contributions of informal sector workers while providing them with the practical knowledge and tools necessary to facilitate their transition from the informal to the formal economy.

The sessions focused on vital insights on business registration, cooperative development, Productivity 101 (Productivity Enhancement), and social service programs, equipping participants with effective strategies to strengthen their local economic activities.

The technical discussions on Productivity Enhancement were delivered simultaneously by the following RTWPB Caraga resource speakers:

In coordination with DOLE SDN, through Provincial Head, Ms. May C. Velonta, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-Caraga convened today at Ocean 101, General Luna, Surigao del Norte for its regular monthly meeting.

Key discussions focused on regional wage compliance rate and its corresponding challenges. The session also served as a venue for a dialogue-consultation with the Siargao Tourism Industrial Tripartite Council (ITC), addressing sector-specific wage compliance and challenges.

In partnership with DOLE Surigao del Norte, led by Provincial Head Ms. May C. Velonta, and the DOLE Dapa Satellite Office, led by Engr. Luzvifeno Miguel A. Cab, RTWPB Caraga successfully conducted "Usapang 2Ps: Pasahod at Productivity" at Island Dreams, General Luna, Surigao del Norte.

The event gathered Siargaonon MSMEs, encompassing various enterprises from the municipalities of Dapa, Del Carmen, and General Luna.

During the morning session, DOLE hosted an Employer's Forum to orient MSMEs on basic labor laws and regulations, general compliance, and the submission of vital reportorial requirements. This included key discussions on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) compliance and the submission of the Annual Establishment Report on Wages (AERW).

The learning sessions continued in the afternoon with RTWPB Caraga, led by the Board Secretary VI, Mr. Earl D. Dela Victoria. The Usapang 2Ps activity introduced the various programs and services offered by the RTWPB, discussed the salient features of the region's latest Wage Order, Wage Distortion, Facility Evaluation, and the Productivity-Based Incentive Schemes (PBIS).

This activity was made possible through a cost-sharing arrangement with our partners DOLE SDN and the DOLE Dapa Satellite Office.

In partnership with RTWPB Board Member Mr. Leonidas P. Dingding and the Bislig City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, RTWPB Caraga successfully conducted a training session on Smart Productivity for local MSMEs at the Bislig Highland Function Farm, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

The Smart Productivity module focuses on the digital transformation of MSMEs, introducing practical digital tools and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants assessed their digital readiness and skills to develop a personalized Digital Productivity Action Plan.

The activity was also graced by the Hon. Atty. Conrad C. Cejoco โ€“ Vice Mayor of Bislig City and Vice Chairperson of the Bislig City Tourism Council with PLTCOL Jassen N. Tuario โ€“ PNP Chief of Bislig City, who encouraged MSMEs to prioritize digital safety and the installation of CCTVs to secure their business establishments and promote safety and order.
