402nd Brigade Commander Visits 29IB, Highlights Army’s Commitment to Peace and Community Development
BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte — The Commander of the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade, Philippine Army, BGEN Edmund Paul R Delos Santos, conducted an official visit to the Headquarters of the 29th Infantry Battalion in Brgy. Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City on 21 May 2026.
BGEN Delos Santos, together with members of the Brigade Staff, was warmly received by Lt. Col. Mark S Tabon, along with the battalion’s officers and enlisted personnel.
As part of the visit, BGEN Delos Santos conducted a “Talk to Troops,” where he conveyed guidance, operational direction, and words of encouragement to the personnel of the 29th Infantry Battalion. He emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and sustained commitment in fulfilling the Philippine Army’s mission.
The visit underscored the Brigade Commander’s commitment to strengthening leadership engagement, enhancing operational readiness, and sustaining the morale and welfare of troops in the field. He also commended the personnel of 29IB for their unwavering dedication and significant contributions in maintaining peace, security, and development within their area of responsibility.
In his message, BGEN Delos Santos recognized the notable accomplishments of the Philippine Army in advancing community-based peace initiatives, humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations, community outreach programs, and close collaboration with local government units and other stakeholders. He emphasized that beyond combat operations, the Army remains firmly committed to protecting the people, fostering unity, and helping communities achieve sustainable peace, progress, and stability.
The activity also provided an avenue to discuss the battalion’s ongoing accomplishments, operational updates, and initiatives in support of the Philippine Army’s mission of securing communities and sustaining lasting peace throughout the area of responsibility.
