๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG actively participated in the Surigao Marathon 2026 spearheaded by the City Government of Surigao in coordination with the Surigao Ultra Runners, held at Surigao City, Surigao del Norte yesterday, 31 May 2026.

The men and women of Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte proudly congratulates SN1 Arnold C Merin PCG for successfully completing the 21KM Category earning his finisher medal with pride and dedication which demonstrates unwavering support for programs that promote health awareness, community solidarity and public service.

The event brought together runners, fitness enthusiasts, government agencies and members of the community in a celebration of endurance, discipline and camaraderie wherein through his participation, SN1 Merin PCG exemplified the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s dedication to promoting physical fitness, resilience and an active lifestyle while fostering stronger ties with the local community.

The marathon also served as a platform to encourage healthy living, sportsmanship and unity among participants from various sectors wherein such activities highlight the importance of maintaining physical readiness, a core value that enables Coast Guard personnel to effectively perform its duties in safeguarding lives, ensuring maritime safety and serving the nation.

Pinamanculan, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte on 30 May 2026.

The activity commenced with an energizing Zumba warm-up, followed by a trash-picking fun walk around the eco-park, bringing together personnel from various government agencies, partner organizations, and community stakeholders in a collective effort to promote environmental stewardship, health and wellness, and community engagement.

The participation of the Philippine Coast Guard in this initiative underscores its commitment not only to maritime safety and security but also to environmental protection and nation-building efforts. ๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In honor of the Virgen De La Paz y Buen Viaje, the patronees for good voyage, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully rendered necessary assistance during Fluvial Parade dubbed as Sakay-Sakay Abayan Festival 2026 held at vicinity waters of Surigao City today, 31 May 2026.

As part of its commitment to ensuring maritime safety, security and the orderly conduct of religious and cultural activities, personnel of Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte together with the dedicated CGDNEM Operational Control (OPCON) units were deployed purposely to provide maritime safety assistance, coastal and seaside security coverage, crowd control and area monitoring throughout the duration of the activity as well as conducted continuous shoreline patrols to guarantee the orderly and peaceful conduct of the activity.

The Philippine Coast Guard remained vigilant throughout the duration of the fluvial parade, maintaining close coordination with local government units, maritime stakeholders and event organizers to guarantee the smooth and incident-free religious celebration wherein the activity gathered numerous devotees and local residents who participated in the maritime procession as a manifestation of faith, devotion and thanksgiving.

Through this active participation highlights the Coast Guardโ€™s unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives at sea while supporting activities that strengthen cultural heritage, religious traditions and community solidarity through its continuous presence and proactive maritime safety measures as well as reaffirm its commitment to serving the public and ensuring the security of all maritime activities within its area of responsibility.

๐ˆ๐‚๐˜๐Œ๐ˆ: On 28 May 2026, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG formally received a Certificate of Appreciation from Surigao Education Center (SEC) NSTP-CWTS in recognition of the station's invaluable support and active participation in the Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-Up Activity held at the adopted 10-hectare mangrove plantation area of Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao in Brgy. Nabago, Surigao City on 14 February 2026.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the collective efforts and strong partnership between PCG-CGS SDN alongside with CGDNEM Operational Control Units and SEC NSTP-CWTS staff and students demonstrating the importance of collaboration in advancing environmental awareness and community engagement through initiatives such as mangrove planting and coastal clean-up drives which both institutions continue to contribute to the protection and rehabilitation of coastal areas while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among the youth and the community.

Meanwhile, a coordination meeting was also conducted to discuss the possible utilization of a room facility owned by SEC to serve as a venue for the accommodation and conduct of the Radio Operation and Maintenance Specialization Course (ROMSC) of qualified PCG personnel for the said schooling wherein the discussion focused on ensuring the availability of a suitable learning environment that will support the effective delivery of training, enhance the technical competencies and contribute to the continuous professional development of PCG personnel which both parties also explored areas of cooperation and logistical arrangements necessary to facilitate the implementation of the said specialization course that will further strengthen the institutional collaboration in support of capacity-building and operational readiness initiatives.

CGS SDN extends its sincere gratitude to SEC NSTP-CWTS for the recognition and continued partnership in supporting programs and activities that foster environmental stewardship, community development and maritime safety through a meaningful and impactful collaborations.

โจ๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) formally conducted the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) Promotion and Awarding Ceremony, alongside the official launching of the Revised PCGA Regulations Manual, at the National Headquarters Function Hall on May 29, 2026.

The ceremony presided over by the PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG.

The event highlighted the vital contributions, dedication, and growing synergy between the regular force and its auxiliary counterpart in safeguarding the nation's maritime interests.

During the ceremony, deserving PCGA members received well-earned promotions and awards in recognition of their voluntary service, technical expertise, and steadfast support of the PCGโ€™s statutory mandates, particularly in maritime safety, marine environmental protection, and community relations.

A key highlight of the activity was the official unveiling of the Revised PCGA Regulations Manual. The updated manual is designed to streamline operations, enhance organizational efficiency, and strengthen the strategic alignment between the PCG and the PCGA to meet modern maritime challenges.

As the PCG and PCGA continue to work hand-in-hand, the launching of the new manual marks a significant milestone in fostering a more disciplined, responsive, and robust maritime auxiliary force nationwide.

In support of the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement Response Group โ€“ Northeastern Mindanao (MEPU-NEM), Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande actively participated in the Oil Spill Awareness and Emergency Response Training Exercise and Marine Pollution 73-78 Seminar conducted from 27 to 29 May 2026.

The three-day activity consisted of lectures held at the Socorro Womenโ€™s Center and a practical training exercise conducted at Navarro Port, Socorro, Surigao del Norte. Participants included personnel from Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande, Philippine National Police (PNP) Socorro, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Socorro.

The activity aimed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance awareness on marine environmental protection, and improve preparedness and response capabilities during oil spill incidents and marine pollution emergencies.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: As part of its unwavering commitment to promoting community health, humanitarian service, and public well-being, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG actively participated as blood donors in the Blood Letting Activity held at Brgy. Ipil Gymnasium, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte yesterday, 29 May 2026.

The activity was organized and spearheaded by Washington District in collaboration with the Caraga Regional Hospital (CRH) Blood Bank and the City Health Office which likewise participated by CGS SDN Sub-Stations and Coast Guard Sea Marshal Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSMU-NEM).

The initiative aimed to strengthen the blood supply while promoting awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation in supporting patients in need of immediate medical care wherein community members, volunteers and other partner agencies actively participated demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and compassion in helping save lives.

Through this life-saving initiative highlights the power of community bayanihan, where individuals come together to support public health and extend hope to patients who depend on blood transfusions.

The activity was attended by CGS SDN Sub-Stations and CGDNEM OPCON Units aimed to provide valuable information regarding AFPMBAI services and benefits, including loan assistance, release of dividends, insurance claims and other membership-related concerns intended to support the financial well-being of PCG personnel.

The Information Drive was spearheaded by Ms. Nyza Madhel E. Bondaog, Branch Specialist together with Mr. Dansievewel V. Suazo, Insurance Representative who shared essential updates and guidance to ensure that members are fully informed of the benefits and opportunities available to them as AFPMBAI members.

This initiative reflects the strong partnership between AFPMBAI and the Philippine Coast Guard in advancing the welfare, morale and overall support system for the men and women in uniform through responsive and member-centered services.
