PROTECT. GUIDE. EMPOWER.

The internet can be a great place for children to learn, connect, and explore, but it can also expose them to scams, cyberbullying, inappropriate content, online predators, and other dangers. Parents, guardians, teachers, and children must work together to make every online experience safer.

Be careful when communicating with people you don't know personally, even if they seem friendly or claim to be your age.

๐Ÿ”— 4. Don't Click Suspicious Links
Avoid unknown links, downloads, and messages that ask for personal information.

๐Ÿšซ 5. Block and Report Suspicious Behavior

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ KNOW THE LAW: REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9262
Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004

STOP VAWC. PROTECT. REPORT. SEEK HELP.

Violence against women and their children (VAWC) is not a private matterโ€”it is a serious offense punishable under the law. Everyone has a role in preventing violence and protecting victims and survivors.

๐Ÿ›‘ FORMS OF VAWC

1. Physical Violence

4. Economic Abuse
Acts that make a woman financially dependent, such as withholding financial support or preventing her from working or managing her own resources.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง WHO MAY BE PROTECTED?

RA 9262 protects women and their children who are subjected to violence by:

โ€ข A current or former husband;
โ€ข A person with whom the woman has or had a sexual or dating relationship; or
โ€ข A person with whom she has a common child.

Children under the care of the victim are also covered by the law.

โš ๏ธ PROHIBITED ACTS

A person may be held liable for acts of violence such as:

โ€ข Inflicting physical harm or threats of harm;
โ€ข Threatening, intimidating, or harassing the victim;
โ€ข Causing psychological or emotional abuse;
โ€ข Depriving or controlling financial support;
โ€ข Stalking or repeatedly contacting the victim against her will; and
โ€ข Other acts covered and penalized under RA 9262.

โš–๏ธ LEGAL REMEDIES

Victims and qualified persons may seek protection and legal assistance through:

Barangay Protection Order (BPO)
A protection order that may be issued by the barangay for acts covered by the law.

Temporary Protection Order (TPO)
A court-issued protection order intended to provide immediate protection.

Permanent Protection Order (PPO)
A court-issued protection order that may provide continuing protection to the victim and her children.

Victims may also file an appropriate criminal complaint and seek assistance from the police, barangay authorities, prosecutors, courts, and other concerned agencies.

๐Ÿ’™ REMEMBER

WALANG PUWANG ANG KARAHASAN SA TAHANAN.
Know your rights. Speak up. Seek help. Protect yourself and your children.

โ€œAng pagmamahal ay hindi nananakit, nananakot, o kumokontrol.โ€

๐Ÿ“Œ Know the law. Prevent violence. Protect women and children.
