SWIFT EOD RESPONSE NEUTRALIZES EXPLOSIVE THREAT, ENSURES SAFETY IN NUEVA VIZCAYA COMMUNITY

In line with the PNP Focus Agenda, under the leadership of PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUNDO, JR, Director, PNP-EOD/K9 Group, the Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit 2 (RECU 2) - Nueva Vizcaya PECU successfully conducted a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) on a piece of unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO) in Barangay Beti, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.

A phone call from Aritao MPS hotline regarding a corroded military projectile discovered by a concerned citizen digging a pipeline, an expert team led by PSMS Romeo C Binasoy, immediately mobilized. Arriving at the scene in coordination with Aritao MPS, the UXO identified as one round of a corroded 81mm High Explosive (HE) cartridge, was stabilized in a crate filled with soil to prevent inadvertent detonation during transit.

Given the ordnance’s lethal capability to cause casualties within a 20-to-30-meter radius, the swift intervention effectively averted a potential disaster that could have resulted in loss of life and property damage. The operation concluded smoothly with no untoward incidents, and the recovered item was safely transported to the unit’s make-shift storage for safekeeping pending formal disposal.

Verse of the Day 🙏

Timothy 1:5

Reflection:

Paul reminds us that the finish line is always LOVE. But not just any love. It’s a love that requires three internal anchors:

A Pure Heart: Loving people with zero hidden agendas or selfish motives.

A Good Conscience: Living with total integrity, free from hidden shame or guilt.

A Sincere Faith: An authentic trust in God that doesn't wear a mask for others.
