On October 6, 2026, JSUPT TADEO S SAN GABRIEL, MD, Acting Chief of the Health Service Division, together with SJO1 Psychie B Macaga-an, SJO1 Fritz Anthony C Salazar, and NUP Baverly L. Aurora, conducted jail visitation at Bayugan City Jail and Cabadbaran City District Jail to monitor the health status and overall well-being of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). The visit provided an opportunity to assess health concerns, observe their living conditions, and ensure that appropriate health services remain responsive to their needs.

The BJMP Caraga welcomed Rev. Fr. Rodrigo G. RaΓ±ez, Jr., DCT, Prison Ministry Director of the Volunteers in Prison Service (VIPS) of the Diocese of Tandag, during his courtesy call on JCSUPT ATTY. FERDINAND D PONTILLO, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the submission of documentary requirements for the renewal of accreditation as a BJMP Service Provider. The activity is part of the continuing partnership built on compassion and a shared commitment to the welfare and holistic rehabilitation of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Through its spiritual, psychosocial, and supportive services, VIPS continues to bring hope and meaningful assistance to PDL, helping them find strength, purpose, and opportunities for positive transformation. In accordance with BJMP Memorandum Circular No. 114, the renewal of accreditation every two years helps ensure the sustained delivery of responsive and quality services inside jail facilities.

Following his attendance at the completion ceremony of Masonry NC II by 25 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at Bislig City Jail, JCSUPT ATTY. FERDINAND D PONTILLO, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, conducted a comprehensive jail inspection to assess the facility’s condition, security measures, and areas for improvement.

During the inspection, JCSUPT Pontillo meticulously checked the different areas of the jail facility and identified aspects that may still be enhanced to ensure a safer, more efficient, and responsive jail environment. Accompanied by JINSP ISIDRO T LOGRONIO JR, Acting City Jail Warden, he also discussed the unit’s operational concerns, ongoing initiatives, and proposed innovations aimed at improving jail management and the delivery of services to both personnel and PDL.

Twenty-five Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Bislig City Jail successfully earned their Masonry NC II certification after completing 23 days of intensive training and assessment, achieving a 100% passing rate. Supported by TESDA and various stakeholders, the program equipped the graduates with practical skills, confidence, and opportunities for productive livelihood.

Clear, accurate, and timely reports are essential to effective jail management. Recognizing the importance of proper documentation in decision-making and daily operations, BJMP Caraga conducted a Capability Training on Proper Report Writing for Jail Wardens and Deputy Wardens.

Serving as resource speaker, JSSUPT ROSENETTE G ROSERO, MDR, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, shared practical guidance on organizing information, presenting a clear basis based on formal guidelines, and preparing reports that are concise, accurate, and responsive to operational requirements. The activity provided participants with valuable insights that can be applied in their respective jail units.

True holiness, however, is not isolation from others. It is reflected in how we live, serve, and influence the people around us. The BJMP Caraga Regional Office once again stood united under the Philippine flag as personnel gathered for the regular Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony at the Regional Office grounds. Led by Assistant Regional Director for Administration JSSUPT ARVIN T ABASTILLAS, PhD, and Assistant Regional Director for Operations JSSUPT ROSENETTE G ROSERO, the gathering brought together members of the Command Group, Chiefs of Offices, Division Heads, and Jail Non-Officer Ranks in a shared expression of patriotism and commitment to duty.
