The Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden JCINSP DIOVIN C AUZA, proudly held the Graduation Ceremony of the Katatagan, Kalusugan, at Damayan ng Komunidad (KKDK) Program Batch 1 and Batch 2β€”an important milestone in its continuing rehabilitation efforts.

The ceremony recognized seventeen Persons Deprived of Liberty who successfully completed the program focused on emotional stability, discipline, wellness, and social reintegration. Beyond completion, it was a quiet yet powerful celebration of transformationβ€”of individuals choosing growth, accountability, and a new direction in life.

The event was strengthened by the presence of partner agencies, including PDEA Region 13, PAO Region 13, DOH Rehabilitation Center Caraga, and BJMP Regional Office Caraga, represented by the Assistant Regional Director for Operations, JSSUPT ROSENETTE G ROSERO. Their messages of support reflected a shared commitment to restorative justice, underscoring that rehabilitation is a collective effort of institutions, families, and communities.

Moments of emotion filled the venue as families witnessed the progress of their loved ones. For many, it was a powerful reminder that behind every PDL is a story capable of renewal, dignity, and hope. The graduates stood with renewed confidenceβ€”proof of resilience and the enduring possibility of change.

The KKDK Program was highlighted as more than an intervention, but a life-changing journey that restores self-worth, rebuilds relationships, and prepares individuals for meaningful reintegration into society.

As the ceremony concluded, a sense of fulfillment and quiet pride remainedβ€”affirming BCJ-MD’s commitment to humane correctional practices and transformative rehabilitation.

More than a graduation, it was a new beginningβ€”proof that with compassion, opportunity, and support, lives can be rebuilt and futures rewritten.

Through initiatives like KKDK, BCJ-MD continues to uphold its mission: to change lives, restore dignity, and help build a safer nation.

The Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory (BCJ-MD), under the leadership of City Jail Warden JCINSP DIOVIN C. AUZA, conducted a Seminar on Philippine Flag Awareness and the Celebration of National Flag Day on May 29, 2026 at 9:00 AM.

The activity aimed to deepen the understanding of participants on the history, symbolism, and proper etiquette of the Philippine National Flag, while reinforcing the importance of National Flag Day in promoting patriotism, respect, and national pride.

Serving as the resource speaker, JCINSP AUZA personally facilitated the seminar and emphasized the duty of every Filipino to honor and uphold the values embodied by the national flag. His discussion highlighted the flag’s significance as a symbol of unity, sovereignty, and national identity.

A total of 56 participants joined the activity, composed of 20 BCJ-MD personnel and 36 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), with the latter divided into two batches to ensure full participation.

The seminar successfully strengthened patriotism, national consciousness, and respect for the Philippine flag among all participants.

In line with the implementation of the Drug Clearing Program, the Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden JCINSP DIOVIN C AUZA, successfully conducted a Joint Greyhound Operation in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Agusan del Norte.

The operation commenced with a briefing participated in by BCJ-MD personnel and PDEA agents, including a K-9 Unit. Adhering to strict security protocols, all participating personnel and PDEA operatives underwent thorough frisking and inspection of their belongings prior to the activity. Fi****ms, mobile phones, and other gadgets were securely deposited to ensure the integrity of the operation.

The joint team systematically inspected personnel offices, barracks, and all jail facilities. Persons Deprived of Liberty were subjected to body frisking and inspection of their personal belongings before being temporarily transferred to a designated holding area. The Greyhound Teams then conducted an extensive search of the facility, checking every possible area where illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia could be concealed.

The operation concluded successfully with no illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or other contraband discovered or confiscated, reaffirming BCJ-MD's commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and drug-free environment for both personnel and PDLs.

This successful undertaking reflects the strong partnership between BCJ-MD and PDEA in promoting transparency, accountability, and public safety while advancing the goal of achieving and sustaining a drug-cleared jail facility.

In line with its commitment to digital transformation and effective public information management, personnel of the Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden JCINSP DIOVIN C AUZA, successfully completed the 40-hour Training Course on Web Content Management Using WordPress conducted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Caraga Region from May 25–29, 2026 at the DTC Butuan City, DICT Building, J. Rosales Avenue, Butuan City.

The comprehensive training equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in website administration, content management, web hosting services, and website security using the Government Web Template. Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, participants gained valuable insights on maintaining secure, responsive, and accessible government websites that promote transparency and efficient public service delivery.

BCJ-MD extends its gratitude to DICT Caraga Region for providing this learning opportunity that further strengthens the Bureau's digital capabilities and supports its commitment to delivering timely, accurate, and accessible information to the public through modern technology.

On May 21, 2026, the Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden JCINSP DIOVIN C AUZA, actively participated as a member agency in the 2nd Quarter Special Action Committee Meeting on Anti-Criminality 2026 held at Nasipit Hall, Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City. The meeting brought together the Butuan City Police Office, led by City Director PCOL RICHIE M. YATAR, along with other partner agencies, in a unified effort to strengthen inter-agency coordination and sustain peace and order in the city.

Key matters discussed during the meeting included updates on the city’s drug situation, Gender-Based Violence cases, Jail-related concerns, and the operational accomplishments of various law enforcement units. Participating agencies shared insights, recommendations, and strategic approaches aimed at enhancing crime prevention, improving intelligence coordination, and strengthening community-based interventions.

The discussions emphasized the importance of unity and sustained collaboration among all stakeholders in addressing criminality and maintaining public safety. In his message, PCOL YATAR underscored the value of inter-agency cooperation in ensuring a safer and more secure community, reaffirming BCPO’s continued commitment to support all anti-criminality initiatives.

As a member agency, BCJ-MD reaffirmed its commitment to active participation in collaborative security efforts, contributing to strengthened coordination mechanisms and supporting initiatives that promote a safer, more peaceful, and resilient Butuan City.

On May 20, 2026, personnel of the Butuan City Jail – Male Dormitory, under the leadership of JCINSP DIOVIN C AUZA, City Jail Warden, participated in the 2nd Quarter Special Action Committee Meeting on Public Safety 2026 held at Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City, chaired by FSINSP RONALD Y VASQUEZ, Acting City Fire Marshal of the Butuan City Central Fire Station.
