AGUSAN DEL NORTE – Voting is set to become more convenient, accessible, and voter-friendly with the approval of 𝟑𝟒 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 across Agusan del Norte and Butuan City.

Through the collective efforts of the Offices of the Election Officers of Buenavista, Cabadbaran City, Carmen, Jabonga, Las Nieves, Magallanes, and Butuan City, these new voting centers have been approved for use beginning with the 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐁𝐒𝐊𝐄) 𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. More importantly, these additional voting centers will continue to serve voters in succeeding electoral exercises, making election services more accessible for years to come.

Of the 𝟑𝟒 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝟐𝟐 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, bringing election services closer to thousands of voters.

The impact is significant. During the 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, Agusan del Norte and Butuan City had a total of 𝟐𝟓𝟖 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. With the addition of these new facilities, the number will 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟗𝟐 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, benefiting not only BSKE 2026 but also future elections by expanding voter access and helping ensure a smoother voting experience.

More than just an increase in numbers, these additional voting centers represent a long-term investment in accessible and inclusive elections. By reducing congestion in existing voting centers and bringing polling locations closer to communities, voters can expect less crowding, shorter waiting times, and a more comfortable and efficient voting process on Election Day. Every approved voting center is a step toward ensuring that every eligible voter can participate in the democratic process with greater ease and convenience.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Agusan del Norte, together with its field offices, remains committed to continuously improving election services and strengthening public trust in the electoral process.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 || Personnel of the Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor, Agusan del Norte, convened for the Initial Assessment Meeting and Performance Review for January–June 2026.

The meeting, led by Atty. April Joy P. Balano, Provincial Election Supervisor IV, focused on reviewing the performance of the Offices of the Election Officers throughout the province and assessing activities conducted during the first semester of CY 2026. Discussions also included preparations for the upcoming onsite verification of project of precincts and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Department of Education (DepEd) for the BATA Program.

The Election Officers and selected Election Assistants of Agusan del Norte recently conducted a review and assessment of the pilot implementation of the 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀: 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐀 Program, which was carried out from February to March 2026 in 14 partner schools across the province.

As the program’s initial rollout, the pilot implementation provided valuable insights and feedback from participating students, teachers, and school administrators. These were carefully evaluated to identify areas for improvement and further strengthen the program’s content, delivery, and learning activities.

The review and assessment aim to refine the program materials and ensure that future implementations become more relevant, engaging, and impactful for Grade 12 learners, as COMELEC continues its commitment to nurturing informed, responsible, and civic-minded future voters.

As part of its continuing commitment to promote informed and responsible citizenship among the youth, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐏. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨, Provincial Election Supervisor IV of COMELEC Agusan del Norte, together with 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢 𝐀. 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧̃𝐞𝐝𝐚, Election Officer IV of OCEO Cabadbaran City, paid a courtesy visit to 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐍. 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐨, Schools Division Superintendent of the DepEd Cabadbaran City Division.

During the meeting, Atty. Balano formally introduced COMELEC Agusan del Norte’s flagship voter education program, “𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀: 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐀.”Designed for Grade 12 learners, the initiative aims to equip students with the knowledge, values, and critical thinking skills needed to become informed voters, responsible decision-makers, and active contributors to nation-building.

Dr. Sabornido warmly welcomed the program and expressed her full support for its implementation. She also affirmed her commitment to collaborating with COMELEC Agusan del Norte in advancing voter education and fostering civic awareness among young Filipinos.

This video is a simple reflection of our three-day Brigada Eskwela journey. More than the cleaning, repainting, and preparation of school facilities, it captures the spirit of volunteerism, cooperation, and bayanihan that brings communities together in support of education.

In our own small way, we joined teachers, parents, and fellow volunteers in helping prepare schools for the opening of classes. As partners in public service, we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute and give back to the DepEd community.

As 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞 concludes its participation in this year’s Brigada Eskwela through its third and final partner school - 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐓. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨, 𝐒𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 in Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City - our hearts are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve beyond the mandate of elections.

Provincial Election Supervisor IV Atty. April Joy P. Balano expressed her appreciation to the school community led by Mr. Charlie P. Abraham, Head Teacher III who warmly welcomed COMELEC Agusan del Norte into this meaningful undertaking.

As this chapter of service comes to a close, COMELEC Agusan del Norte remains grateful for the chance to contribute, however modestly, to creating safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces where learners can grow and thrive. The experience has been both meaningful and fulfilling—a reminder that public service extends beyond the ballot and into the everyday needs of our communities.
