Today, we honor the Philippine flag - the symbol of our freedom, unity, and shared identity as a nation.
In the DA-SAAD Program, we also see this spirit in every farmer and fisherfolk we serve - people who continue to rise through cooperation, hard work, and hope for a better future.
Their progress reflects the same values we celebrate today: unity, resilience, and nation-building.
May we continue to serve with pride and purpose for the country we all call home.

Ang Eid al-Adha ay pagdiriwang na sumisimbolo sa malalim na pananampalataya at dalisay na pagsasakripisyo.

Nawa’y ang sagradong okasyong ito ay maghatid ng kapayapaan, kasaganaan, at magbukas pa ng mas marami pang biyaya sa sektor ng agrikultura tungo sa sapat at masustansiyang pagkain para sa bawat pamilya at komunidad. 🌾

Tumong niini nga mapalapad ang ilang organisasyonal ug teknikal nga kahibalo, ug mapalig-on ang pagdumala sa mga grupo sa mga proyekto sa SAAD paingon sa pagkab-ot sa ilang tinguha nga maka-establisar og sustenableng panginabuhian sa ilang mga nagkadaiyang komunidad.

To strengthen data accuracy and improve field validation processes, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) National Program Management Office (NPMO) conducted profiling observations in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte on May 4 - 5, 2026.

Ang DA-SAAD Caraga ay nagbibigay pugay sa lahat ng mga ina at mga tumayong ina na patuloy na nagtatanim ng pagmamahal, katatagan, at sipag araw-araw. Hindi matutumbasan ang inyong sakripisyo at pagmamahal na patuloy na nagbibigay inspirasyon sa bawat institusyon o organisasyon na inyong kinabibilangan.

| Banana Chips na Gawa ng BABAFAC

Hindi lang panghimagas o pang araw-araw na pagkain ang saging sa Brgy. Balangbalang sa Remedios T. Romualdez, Agusan del Norte. Isa rin itong pinagkukunan ng dagdag kabuhayan ng mga kasapi ng Balangbalang Banana Farmers Agriculture Cooperative sa pamamagitan ng kanilang banana chips processing.

Mula sa ani ng kanilang Banana Production Project, ginagawang mas mataas ang halaga ng saging sa pamamagitan ng pagproseso nito bilang banana chips na swak bilang merienda, pasalubong, at pang-negosyo. Isa ito sa mga hakbang ng samahan upang mapalawak ang oportunidad para sa kanilang mga miyembro.

Available ang banana chips sa 40 grams sa halagang Php25 at 100 grams sa halagang Php50.

Mabibili ang produkto sa mga paaralan sa Brgy. Balangbalang at mga kalapit na barangay. Dinadala rin ito sa mga market day at trade fairs sa Remedios T. Romualdez upang mas marami pang mamimili ang makatikim.

Patuloy na pinagbubuti ng kooperatiba ang kanilang produksyon upang mas mapaganda ang kalidad at mapalawak pa ang merkado ng kanilang banana chips sa mga susunod na panahon.

To reinforce its commitment to providing support beyond farm inputs and financial assistance, the Department of Agriculture - Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program conducted a two-part training on Vermi-Technology last April 21-22, 2026 in Brgy. Balangbalang and Brgy. San Antonio, Remedios T. Romualdez (RTR), Agusan del Norte to further empower its farmers on sustainable agricultural practices.
