𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 | Department of Agriculture - Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program through its Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED) Sub-unit, conducted a four-day field monitoring and validation to its Farmers' Associations (FAs) to assess the current status of of their agricultural enterprises.

Balangbalang Banana Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (BABAFAC) and San Antonio Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (SAFACO) in Remedios T. Romualdez (RTR), Agusan del Norte, Karihatag Poultry Raisers Organization (KRPO) in Malimono, Surigao del Norte and Biyabid SAAD Farmers Association (BISAFA) in Sison, Surigao del Norte were the FAs visited during the monitoring activities by the SAAD team.

𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 | 150 Surigao Del Norte farmers benefit from egg production specialized training

A total of 150 farmers in Surigao del Norte took part in a specialized training on chicken layer egg production, conducted by the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program Phase 2 in June 2025.

The training included a session on Basic Health Management for poultry and was attended by members of the following farmers’ associations: Biyabid SAAD Farmers Association (BISAFA) in Brgy. Biyabid and Tagbayani SAAD Farmers Association (TAGSAFA) in Brgy. Tagbayani, Sison; San Juan Abaca Farmers Association (SJAFA) in Brgy. San Juan, Alegria; Union SAAD Farmers Association (USFA) in Brgy. Union, Tagana-an; and Hanagdong Lakatan Farmers Association (HALAFA) in Brgy. Hanagdong, Malimono.

: 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐀 (2023-2025 𝘊𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵)

From 2023 to 2025, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) in Caraga Region provided agricultural and livelihood support to farmers and fisherfolk in priority communities, expanding their access to productive resources, livelihood opportunities, and capacity-building interventions.

By 2025, the program recorded 710 cumulative beneficiaries, achieving 99.4 percent of its three-year target of 714 beneficiaries. While the accomplishment fell four beneficiaries short of the target, the result reflects the program’s continued efforts to reach farmers and fisherfolk in priority communities across the region.

The program recorded 747 beneficiaries in 2023, followed by 712 in 2024, and 710 in 2025. These figures reflect the program’s continuing implementation of agricultural production, livelihood, and capacity-building interventions for identified beneficiaries.

Through these interventions, farmer and fisherfolk associations were provided with opportunities to strengthen their production activities, develop livelihood sources, and enhance their organizational capabilities. The assistance also supported rural communities in sustaining their economic activities and responding to challenges in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

With a 99.4 percent accomplishment rate in 2025, DA-SAAD Caraga continued to broaden access to agricultural assistance and support the development of productive and resilient farming and fishing communities across the region.

Maraming salamat sa inyong mahalagang ambag sa sektor ng agrikultura!

Bawat panahong nangangailangan ng tapang, may mga taong pinipiling maglingkod at tumindig para sa kapwa.

Ngayong National Heroes Day, binibigyang-pugay ng SAAD Program hindi lamang ang mga bayaning nag-alay ng buhay para sa kalayaan, kundi pati na ang mga ordinaryong Pilipinong patuloy na nagsisikap para sa kapakanan ng kanilang pamilya at komunidad.

Sa hanay ng ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda, araw-araw na kabayanihan ang pagtatanim, pangingisda, pag-aalaga, at pagpupursiging makapaghatid ng masustansyang pagkain at kabuhayan sa kapwa Pilipino.

: Tatlong taon mula nang magsimula ang implementasyon ng SAAD Phase 2 sa probinsya ng Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, at Dinagat Islands, marami ng positibong pagbabago ang nangyari sa buhay ng mga magsasaka sa rehiyon ng Caraga.

Nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga ito upang hubugin ang kanilang mga sarili sa teknikal na kaalaman sa pagsasaka, pagpapatakbo ng isang organisasyon, at pamamaraan sa pagbebenta upang mapamahalaan nila ng mabuti ang kanilang mga Community-Based Enterprises.

Mula sa suporta at gabay ng programa sa pamamagitan ng social preparation, food production and livelihood interventions, at market-related activities, napagtibay ng bawat grupo at ng mga kasapi nito ang mga importanteng katangian ng isang Agripreneur.

Sa kasalukuyan, bumubuo na ng partnerships sa pampubliko at pribadong sektor ang mga grupo sa tulong ng kanilang Area Coordinators, upang sila ay matulungan sa marketing, project expansion, at technical support upang lalong mapayabong ang kanilang mga negosyong pang-agrikultura.

Isang katibayan na ang DA-SAAD Program ay tunay na kaagapay tungo sa kaunlaran.
