The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) โ€“ Aklan Provincial Office, in partnership with the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) and the Local Government Unit of Buruanga, will conduct Mobile Health Services today, September 8, 2026, at the Buruanga Municipal Covered Court.

The activity aims to bring accessible health services closer to coconut farmers and their families, particularly those with limited access to basic healthcare services.

In observance of National Heroes Day, the Local Government Unit of Buruanga joins the nation in commemorating the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Filipino heroes who fought for our freedom and helped shape the nation we are today.

Pursuant to the official proclamation declaring the regular holidays and special non-working days for 2026, National Heroes Day will be observed on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The Local Government Unit of Buruanga, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), conducted a Road Safety Awareness Seminar on August 30, 2026, at the Buruanga Tourism Function Hall, with young participants from the municipality.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness among the youth on road safety, responsible road use, traffic rules and regulations, and the importance of making safe and responsible decisions on the road.

The seminar featured PMaj Machon L Sabado as Resource Speaker, who shared valuable insights and reminders on road safety and responsible behavior among road users.

As part of promoting safer communities, the activity underscored the importance of following traffic regulations, securing the proper driver's license before operating a vehicle, wearing the appropriate helmet when riding a motorcycle, and never driving under the influence of alcohol.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Every decision made on the road can affect not only the driver, but also passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists.

The activity forms part of the LGUโ€™s continuing efforts under the leadership of Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy to support initiatives that promote youth development, responsible citizenship, and the safety and well-being of the community.

Through the initiative of the LYDO, the seminar provided young Buruanganons with greater awareness of the importance of responsible and safe road use.

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Buruanga, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Buruanga, conducted a Youth Disaster Preparedness Seminar on August 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Buruanga Tourism Function Hall.

The seminar provided the participating youth with practical knowledge and hands-on learning opportunities on basic emergency response and disaster preparedness. The discussions and demonstrations covered triage, Basic First Aid and CPR, initial management of head injuries, proper application of splints, basic support for sprained feet using available cloth material, and tourniquet application.

Through the activity, the youth were given the opportunity to learn practical skills that may help them respond appropriately during emergency situations, while emphasizing the importance of preparedness, calm decision-making, and proper response when assistance is needed.

The activity is part of the LYDO's continuing efforts to provide relevant and meaningful learning opportunities for the youth, with the support of the Local Government Unit of Buruanga under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy. These initiatives help encourage young people to become more informed, prepared, and active partners in promoting the safety and well-being of their communities.

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Buruanga, in support of the Local Government Unit of Buruangaโ€™s commitment to youth development, conducted a Leadership Training and Parliamentary Procedure Seminar today, August 29, 2026, at the Buruanga Tourism Function Hall.

The activity started with the Leadership Training at 8:00 AM, providing young participants with an opportunity to enhance their leadership capabilities, strengthen their confidence, and gain valuable knowledge that can help them become more responsible and effective youth leaders in their organizations and communities.

In the afternoon, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the participants continued with the Parliamentary Procedure Seminar, which provided guidance on the proper conduct of meetings, orderly discussions, participation, and decision-making within youth organizations and other community groups.

The activity was facilitated with the valuable insights and guidance of Atty. Charmaine I. Dagohoy, who served as the Resource Speaker for the seminar.

Through initiatives such as this, the LGU Buruanga continues to support programs that provide the youth with opportunities to learn, develop their leadership potential, and actively participate in matters that contribute to the growth and development of the community.

As part of the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) extended educational assistance to young people in Buruanga.

The assistance is intended to provide additional support to students as they continue attending school, manage their day-to-day educational expenses, and pursue their respective goals. While assistance may only be one part of their journey, every form of support can help young people stay focused on their studies and continue working toward a better future.

Some parents and guardians were also present during the distribution, particularly those who were unable to personally attend because of their class schedules.

This activity reflects the continuing efforts of the Municipality of Buruanga to recognize and respond to the needs of its young people. By providing opportunities and support for the youth, the LGU continues to encourage them to value their education and pursue their aspirations.
