Nakiisa si Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela sa pagdiriwang ng ika-128 Anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas kung saan kanyang binigyang-pugay ang mga bayaning nagsakripisyo upang makamit ang kalayaan at kasarinlan ng ating bansa.

Sa kanyang mensahe, ipinaalala ng alkalde ang kahalagahan ng Araw ng Kalayaan bilang isang makasaysayang pagdiriwang na sumasalamin sa katapangan, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal sa bayan ng mga Pilipinong nagbigay-daan upang matamasa ng kasalukuyang henerasyon ang kalayaan.

Ayon kay Mayor Valenzuela, ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang isang karapatang tinatamasa kundi isang responsibilidad na dapat pangalagaan sa pamamagitan ng pagiging mabuting mamamayan, paggalang sa batas, at aktibong pakikilahok sa pagpapaunlad ng komunidad.

“Ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay paalala sa atin na ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan ay naipapakita sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa, malasakit sa kapwa, at tapat na paglilingkod para sa kapakanan ng lahat,” ani Mayor Valenzuela.

Binigyang-diin din ng alkalde na patuloy na isinusulong ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Burgos ang mga programang naglalayong mapabuti ang buhay ng bawat mamamayan. Aniya, ang mga tagumpay ng bayan ay bunga ng sama-samang pagkilos, pagtutulungan, at pagkakaisa ng pamahalaan at mamamayan.

Hinimok din niya ang mga mamamayan ng Burgos na patuloy na isabuhay ang mga pagpapahalagang ipinaglaban ng ating mga ninuno tulad ng pagiging makabayan, masipag, responsable, at handang magsakripisyo para sa ikabubuti ng nakararami.

Sa pagtatapos ng kanyang mensahe, nanawagan si Mayor Valenzuela sa lahat na sama-samang harapin ang mga hamon ng kasalukuyan at patuloy na magtulungan upang makamit ang isang mas maunlad, mapayapa, at matatag na kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon.

Nakiisa si Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela sa Ceremonial Awarding of Project Development and Advancement Grant (Livelihood Assistance) na isinagawa ngayong Hunyo 11 sa Barangay Poblacion Covered Court kung saan pinagkalooban ng tulong-pangkabuhayan ang mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo ng bayan.

Ang programa ay bahagi ng Department of Social Welfare and Development – Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP) na naglalayong tulungan ang mga mamamayan na makapagsimula o mapalawak ang kanilang pinagkakakitaan.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ng alkalde na ang programa ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagbibigay ng suporta kundi pagpapakita rin ng malasakit at pagtitiwala sa kakayahan ng bawat mamamayan na mapaunlad ang kanilang buhay at kabuhayan. Ayon sa kanya, mahalagang magamit nang maayos ang mga oportunidad na ipinagkakaloob ng pamahalaan upang magkaroon ng pangmatagalang epekto sa buhay ng mga benepisyaryo.

“Ang tulong na inyong matatanggap ngayon ay hindi lamang isang suporta mula sa pamahalaan. Ito ay isang pagkakataon upang makapagsimula, makabangon, at higit pang mapaunlad ang inyong kabuhayan,” ani Mayor Valenzuela. Hinikayat din niya ang mga benepisyaryo na gamitin nang responsable ang natanggap na tulong upang masiguro ang tagumpay ng kanilang mga kabuhayan.

Pinuri rin ni Mayor Valenzuela ang sipag at tiyaga ng mga mamamayan ng Burgos. Sinabi niya na sa pamamagitan ng kasipagan, wastong pamamahala, at determinasyon, makakamit ng mga benepisyaryo ang kanilang mga layunin at magkakaroon ng mas matatag na kinabukasan ang kanilang mga pamilya.

Binigyang-diin din ng alkalde na mahalaga ang pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng pamahalaan at mamamayan upang maisakatuparan ang mga programang nagdudulot ng pag-unlad sa komunidad.

Ipinababatid sa lahat ang pagpapatupad ng Municipal Ordinance No. 05, Serye ng 2026, na nag-aamyenda sa mga pamasahe at alituntunin sa operasyon ng mga Tricycle for Public Transport sa Bayan ng Burgos, Pangasinan.

Sa ilalim ng ordinansang ito, itinakda ang mga awtorisadong pamasahe para sa mga tricycle na bumibiyahe sa Bayan ng Burgos, Pangasinan.

Mangyaring tingnan ang mga kalakip na larawan para sa kumpletong talaan ng mga itinakdang pamasahe.

Kung may mga operator o drayber ng tricycle na naniningil ng pamasahe na higit sa itinakdang halaga, hinihikayat ang lahat ng mamamayan na agad itong iulat sa kinauukulang tanggapan.

Mangyaring itala o tandaan ang Body Number at Plate Number ng tricycle, gayundin ang iba pang mahahalagang detalye ng insidente, upang makatulong sa mas mabilis na pagproseso ng reklamo.

Ang mga reklamo ay maaaring isumite sa Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) o sa Office of the Mayor upang mabigyan ng kaukulang aksyon ang mga lumalabag.

Ang inyong pakikipagtulungan ay mahalaga upang mapanatili ang patas at makatarungang paniningil ng pamasahe para sa kapakanan ng lahat.

As part of the Medical and Dental Mission 2026, a Livelihood Training Program will be conducted for residents of Burgos, Pangasinan to provide free skills training and income-generating opportunities.

The training program will cover Tomatoe Jam Making (25 slots) and Dried Mango Processing (25 slots) with a total of 50 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. It primarily aims to benefit solo parents and mothers who are interested in developing livelihood skills.

This program is spearheaded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) thru its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Burgos, Pangasinan, and the Local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), with support from partner trainers and volunteers.

The Municipality of Burgos, Pangasinan led by Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela has once again brought pride to its constituents after securing its third PhALGA Excellence Award during the 21st Annual National Conference of the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants held on May 19, 2026 in Dapitan City.

The recognition is awarded by the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PhaLGA) to local government units (LGUs) that achieve a Commission on Audit (COA) Unmodified Opinion on their financial statements. This is the highest audit opinion granted by the state auditing body and reflects full compliance with government accounting standards.

The award affirms Burgos’ strong financial discipline, accurate reporting, and sustained commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.

Municipal Accountant Winnie Bongar received the award during the awarding ceremony. On June 1, 2026, the accountant together with personnel of the Municipal Accounting Office formally presented the recognition to Mayor Valenzuela during a courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office alongside the municipality’s previous PhALGA awards.

Burgos first received the distinction in 2021 and again in 2022 with the latest recognition based on CY 2024 financial statements. The recurrent achievement highlights the municipality’s consistent excellence in fiscal stewardship and strengthens public trust in local governance.

The Municipal Accounting Office under the leadership of Municipal Accountant Bongar continues to play a vital role in maintaining the municipality’s high standards in financial reporting and accountability.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Burgos, Pangasinan, under the leadership of Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela, has processed 555 business permits and generated more than P1.29 million in revenue through the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and the Market and Slaughterhouse Office from January 1 to June 1, 2026.

During the Monday flag-raising ceremony, the two offices presented their accomplishment reports, highlighting efforts to strengthen business services, regulatory compliance, and local revenue generation.

Mr. Rocky Abuan, Market Supervisor IV and Business Permits and Licensing Officer-Designate, reported the BPLO has processed 555 business permits as of June 1, 2026, including 511 applications facilitated through the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS). Of the total permits processed, 65 were new applications and 490 were renewals.

In support of regulatory monitoring and compliance, the office has also recorded 41 resorts, five ambulant vendors, and 50 transient businesses operating within the municipality. During the same period, it facilitated 58 business closures.

The BPLO likewise has processed 209 Motorized Tricycle Operator’s Permits (MTOPs), consisting of 19 new applications and 190 renewals, while recording 11 dropped permits.

Under the Motorized Fishing Boat Registration program, the office has processed 33 registrations, all of which were renewals.

Abuan also reported the successful establishment of Don Matias, Anapao, and Tambacan (DAT) TODA, increasing the number of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODAs) in Burgos to two. The associations are Burgos, Pangasinan (BUPA) TODA, led by Mr. Marcelino Nisperos, and DAT TODA, headed by Mr. Rexel Carizal.

To improve service accessibility, the LGU conducted the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) at Poblacion Covered Court from January 2 to January 20, 2026. Through an Executive Order issued by Mayor Valenzuela on February 3, 2026, the registration period was extended until February 6 to provide business owners additional time to renew and register their enterprises.

Registration services were likewise brought directly to motorized fishing boat operators in Sitio Pao and Sitio Cabongaoan, Barangay Ilio-Ilio, ensuring more convenient access to frontline government services.

Abuan further highlighted the rehabilitation of the wet section of the Burgos Public Market, which has improved market facilities and provided additional space for vendors.

Meanwhile, the Market and Slaughterhouse Office collected P1,297,654.48 as of April 2026, achieving 33.27 percent of its P3.9-million annual target. The office credited the accomplishment to the efforts of its collection team, including partner collectors Ms. Gema Oblanca, Ms. Brinda Alferos, Ms. Lailanie Cabanilla, Mr. Ian Bonode, and Mr. Patrick Dale Navarrete, under the supervision of Municipal Treasurer Marilou Baradi.

As of May 22, 2026, the municipal slaughterhouse has recorded 940 slaughtered animals, consisting of 867 hogs, 37 goats, and 36 cattle.

Following the report, Atty. Paul Braga, Executive Assistant III, delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Valenzuela, encouraging municipal employees to continue providing responsive and efficient public service.

Braga also announced the conduct of Medical Mission on June 6, 2026 to provide healthcare services to residents. He further informed employees of the ongoing tree-pruning and cutting activities within the Municipal Government Complex aimed at improving public safety and maintaining government facilities.

The accomplishments reported by the BPLO and Market and Slaughterhouse Office underscore the Municipal Government of Burgos’ continuing commitment to improving frontline services, enhancing revenue generation, and supporting local economic development.

Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela administered the oath-taking of Mr. Chris Romero who officially assumed office as Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Ilio-Ilio this morning, May 28, 2026.

C. Romero’s assumption marks his formal entry into the Sangguniang Barangay following the vacancy left by his brother, former Kagawad Rhasty Romero who resigned before completing his term to pursue other career opportunities.

Former Kagawad R. Romero attended the ceremony to express support for his brother’s new role in public service.

Barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Francis Angeles were also present during the oath-taking and warmly welcomed C. Romero into the council, expressing their support for his assumption of duty.

The appointment was made in accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act No. 7160, Section 44), which provides that permanent vacancies in the Sangguniang Barangay shall be filled through appointment by the city or municipal mayor upon recommendation of the Sangguniang Barangay.

With his formal assumption of office, the barangay expressed confidence that Kagawad C. Romero will contribute to the delivery of local programs and services for residents of Ilio-Ilio.
