LCS Marching Band Receives New Marimba Instrument

January 30, 2025 – The LCS Alumni Association (LCSAA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the school’s musical excellence by donating a brand-new marimba to the LCS Marching Band.

In a heartfelt turnover ceremony, LCSAA President, Ambassador Catalino Dilem, personally handed over the instrument to the school, ensuring that young musicians continue to develop their talents with high-quality equipment. The event was attended by school teaching staff and alumni, all eager to witness this significant contribution.

“This marimba will surely enhance the performance of our marching band and inspire our learners to pursue their passion for music,” said Amb. Dilem. “The LCSAA remains dedicated to supporting projects that enrich the school and its community.”

The LCS Marching Band, known for its outstanding performances, expressed their gratitude, promising to use the marimba to elevate their music further. Mr. Joel Paul S. Reyes, Head Teacher III also extended their appreciation to LCSAA for its continued generosity and unwavering support.

With great pride and honor, CONGRATULATIONS to DepEd Tayo Luna Community School for its exceptional achievements in the recently concluded Inter-School Evaluation on the Best Classroom, Best Office, and Best School Practices, held from December 4 to 6, 2024. These achievements, announced during the Program Implementation Review (PIR) cm Get Together on December 19, 2024, at Burgos Central School, are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our school community.

A Warm Welcome to the New School Head of Luna Community School

On the morning of November 5, 2024, the Luna Community School held a memorable and heartfelt event to install Mr. Joel Paul S. Reyes as the new Head Teacher III. The program, filled with warmth, respect, and excitement, took place at the school's covered court, bringing together faculty, students, parents, and distinguished guests.

The program began promptly at 8:00 AM with an opening prayer led by Mrs. Elsie C. Carta, PTA Vice President, invoking guidance and blessings for the school's new leadership and continued success. Following the prayer, Mrs. Gilda A. Pascua, Teacher III and President of the LCS Teaching Staff, delivered the welcome remarks, expressing optimism for the future under Mr. Reyes’ leadership.

The atmosphere of camaraderie and anticipation was felt as Mr. Daniel I. Callejo, Teacher III, acknowledged the presence of special guests and dignitaries. Mr. Christian Marcelo B. Carta, PTA President, also shared an inspiring message that emphasized the collective efforts needed from the school community to foster an environment of learning and growth.

A delightful intermission followed, with a performance by the talented Grade 3-Narra learners, adding a touch of joy and entertainment to the occasion.

**Teachers' Day and Family Day Celebration Highlights Unity and Appreciation**
*October 4, 2024*

In a heartwarming gathering, DepEd Tayo Luna Community School came together to celebrate Teachers' Day and Family Day on October 4, 2024. The event, filled with joy, gratitude, and camaraderie, was hosted by two Grade 6 students, Alexander G. Aliwadang and Sophia Angelique B. Belen, whose energy and enthusiasm set the tone for the entire celebration.

The day kicked off with an opening prayer led by Mrs. Elsie C. Carta, PTA Vice President, setting a reflective and respectful atmosphere. Elbenne Kassandrah Genn H. Olpindo from Grade 5 then led the National Anthem, followed by community singing led by Azil Rheign F. Felicitas from Grade 6, inspiring a sense of unity among the attendees.

The program formally began with an opening talk from Mr. Wilfredo B. Escobar, PTA Auditor, who highlighted the importance of both teachers and families in shaping young minds. Learners from Grade 2 Mango and Kindergarten entertained the audience with a lively intermission number, followed by a message from SBM Christopher S. Belen, Chairman of the Committee on Education. His words echoed the sentiment of deep gratitude toward the educators who tirelessly contribute to the success of their learners.

The celebration featured several intermissions, with performances by Grade 3 Narra and Grade 6 Dove and Grade 2 Apple, bringing a festive spirit to the event.

Further into the program, performances from Grade 1 Rose and Grade 1 Santan brought smiles and laughter to the audience.

Another highlight was the performance by Grade 5 Parrot, ALS learners and SELG Officers and members, a testament to the inclusive nature of the school community. Mrs. Annabelle F. Escobar, CSO President, also shared her gratitude and reflections in a message to all participants. As thanks to the unwavering contributions of teachers, she gave a cash gifts to all teachers. She generously added also cash prizes to parlor games for learners and parents adding an extra enjoyment to the celebration.

Also, SBM Belen, Mrs. Elsie Carta, and our October celebrants: Mrs. Glenda Sibayan, Mrs. Minerva Dizon and Mrs. Suzette Callejo gave additional prizes for the parlor games.

The program concluded with fun parlor games, fostering a stronger bond between the families, students, and teachers. SELG President Jadexander Raine P. Reyes delivered the closing remarks, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment and togetherness.

After the program, parents, teachers and learners enjoyed a bountiful lunch inside the classrooms.

The celebration was a true testament to the school’s commitment to fostering a supportive and loving community, where both families and teachers play pivotal roles in shaping the future of the students.

On September 13, 2024, the Luna Community School Alumni Association proudly handed over a much-needed Water System Replacement Project to the school. The turnover ceremony was held at the school grounds, marking a significant milestone in enhancing the wellbeing of the learners and staff through improved access to clean and reliable water.The event was graced by esteemed alumni members, school officials, PTA officers and learners.

The ceremony opened with a prayer led by Mrs. Elsie Carta, retired Master Teacher 2 and at the same time the PTA Vice President. It was followed by a community singing led by Mrs. Rosalina Dela Cruz, Teacher III. A welcoming message was delivered by Mrs. Gilda Pascua, Teacher III, Staff President, expressed sincere appreciation for the alumni’s generosity and enduring commitment to the school. Following the welcome address, Engr. Gener Olpindo, Treasurer of the Alumni Association, gave the project overview, importance, and project cost amounting to Php103, 444.00. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of the project in supporting the health and safety of the school community, especially in today’s context where access to clean water is more crucial than ever. Amb. Catalino R. Dilem Jr., Alumni President, shared the motivation behind the project and the desire to give back to the school that had played such an integral role in their personal and professional development. He spoke of the association’s long-standing dedication to supporting the school’s future, and how the project symbolises their continuous efforts to invest in the school’s growth and sustainability.

A ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation and Acceptance followed, with key members of the alumni association and school leadership jointly marking the official turnover of the water system.

The new water facility was then formally turned over, symbolising a fresh beginning for the school’s infrastructure, which will now benefit generations of students to come.In his acceptance message, Mr. Daniel I. Callejo, the school Officer-in-Charge expressed deep gratitude to the alumni, emphasising that the new water system would not only improve day-to-day life on school but would also stand as a lasting reminder of the positive impact alumni can have on their alma mater. He encouraged current students to see the alumni as role models and to one day pay forward the generosity they’ve experienced.The ceremony concluded with a closing remarks given by Mrs. Veronica P. Cabalo, Master Teacher I.

This project exemplifies the strength of the bond between the alumni and the school and serves as a reminder that through collaboration and shared purpose, great things can be achieved.
